Even if Winston stays within himself and doesnt "get in the way of wins" and the Saints make the playoffs, i think i trust Sean not to give him the keys going forward if he thinks he can upgrade the position.

I don't think anyone is sold on Winston yet until he has an NFL worthy receiver or two where he is not pumping and dancing forever in the pocket. Just committing to the run helped a great deal. I can't wait till we get someone that can consistently get some separation.

I’m completely sold on him. Maybe we can get the great Aaron Rodgers next year but if not I’m fine rolling with young Jameis.

Hurts wasnt bad despite the Eagles being a flaming bag of feces tonight. Big arm and his passes have excellent touch. You have to factor in that he was running for his life from start to finish behind a decimated o-line.

The good - Winston has played for the Saints while being paid less than he could have in other places. Got to respect that about him. VS. the packers, he was decisive in his runs.

The bad - VS. the panthers and the patriots he forgot when he needs to cut loose and run.

The ugly - Throwing while headed to the ground is gonna force Sean Payton to let him go. Period. I personally think that coach is going to work on RB/TE releases to be outlets for Winston. While there is no perfect solution, Sean will have something drawn up to help his biggest drawback.

Or….just pound the rock and play defense. However, you need a solid kicker to play that way. Rosas ain’t it. When Lutz is back, we may very well see a much more vanilla offense. Just win baby!

I am not sold that he will be the long term solution. From what we’ve seen so far, I don’t see him holding that position for another 5-8 years and think he will be a really good position holder until the team gets their next guy

However, from what we’ve seen, I am sold that he can keep the team competitive and with a few more pieces (mainly MT coming back) and maintaining a strong Def and running game; he’ll have the team in the playoffs every year.

He looked better in the second half. The first half of the game last night Hurts looked like that poor Denver practice squad WR last season who was forced to start QB against the saints due to a covid breakout.

What boggles my mind is that Winston is in his 6th year and is playing behind the best line of his life, but is so damn skittish in the pocket that he looks like a rookie out there. I expected him to have a better pocket presence.

He’s playing a mental game right now. It’s clear he doesn’t want to make a mistake, Sean’s playing to his strengths right now and I’m okay with it. I feel like he’ll let it fly more at home this week. Slowly build his confidence back and it’ll get better when we get MT and Tra’quan back. If we can have MT, Tra, Deonte, AK, and Juwan on the field at the same time this offense could easily be top 10 in the league.

Yet, there are still too many defenders getting free releases and hitting him before he can make his drop steps. One of the sacks, it was supposed to be play action, and he had 2 defenders barreling down on him before he could turn to face the defense. It is by far the best oline he has had, but they have been very inconsistent so far this season. Watching Winston is bringing back nightmares of Jim "Chris" Everett and his happy feet

that play action rollout to the backside has killed Jamies the last 2 weeks. Not sure what our tell is on that play, but we definitely have one.

Conversely that same play always seems to work against our D in years past. Opposing teams routinely hit the FB or TE on the rollout for 7-12 yards, usually resulting in a first down, while the Saints offense at best gets a 2 yard gain out of it, or like the last couple of weeks either leaves Winston throwing it away with someone in his face or sacked

Please explain what he has done for your approval. He isn't a top 25 NFL QB. If you remember Fitz beat him out in TB. Yes he is talented but he can't read a Def at all.

Open receivers is the word you are looking for

Let him win his first playoff game and then I might be sold.

Too early to be determined

But a few factors go into determining being sold on Jameis...

1. Faith Sean Payton has in him

2. Offensive Line

3. Wide Recievers

4. Running Game

5. How the Defense plays...see Carolina game

If by the end of the season Winston continiues to make
dumb decisions with the ball the Saints will have another
QB next season. If Payton can`t change his play no one can.

We have undrafted players at WR.

Even Tom Brady and Brees struggle with this type of WR corps.

Why you think Tom left? Lol.

One year the Patriots literally had only no names at WR. This year their best WR is Agholar and Meyers.

Our WR’s suck, stfu already.
