Just got the news that our family dog, Leo, has cancer. We thought we were going to have him for a full life of 13-14 years but he is 7 old years as of today and we're expecting to have him for a few more months. You never know when your best friend's time is, make sure y'all are making every moment count. Here's to the little buddy...

So sorry for you... But I can tell from your post that you gave Leo a great life. Kudos to you for that!

It happened to me the first day of COVID-19 lockdown. My dog was having trouble jumping in and out of the boat at our farm. He went and laid on the porch and I could tell something was wrong.

Brought him to the vet and she delivered the bad news. It was so advanced we put him down the next day.

When the time comes, and I hope it never does, you should check out Lap of Love. They came to the house and as sad as it was, he was at peace with our family on his favorite couch...

We lost one 2 years ago to cancer at 9 years old. We did try chemo, but it only accelerated the process. She died 3 days after the first chemo treatment.

However, I would do it again at the vets recommendation. Dogs are better than most people.

Good luck to you. It’s still a daily struggle for me 13 months after losing my buddy. I miss him so much.

Feel your pain, j.

Lost my chocolate lab unexpectedly three years ago. Almost the same situation. Still miss his big ole goofy arse, even though his replacement is a pretty damn good dog.

Prayers sent.
