This. Either way it’s a massive failure from top to bottom

The fans always greatly overrate the talent at LSU.

They don't have Oline talent and coaching talent. That's a brutal combination to not have.

You just listed half (3 of 6) of our 5-star recruits in the 2019 and 2020 classes. That’s not exactly a great track record.

Not counting Kardell Thomas since he technically finished a 4-star in 247 composite.

Did you intend to include a bunch of guys not on the team?

The recruiting services sure thought they were good: Emery, Palmer, Lee, Johnson, Brennan, Smith, Roy, Guillory, Thomas, etc. Something is amiss internally.

I was just outlining that those were quite a few names of guys who for whatever reason are not contributing to your team even though they were highly regarded as recruits.

The way I see it is O tries to pacify upper class men for returning an extra year esp defensive line this year cause clearly mason smith is better than both senior tackles. I’m tired of this he waited patiently crap put the best 11 on the field and let’s roll

It's poor coaching for the most part.

Seems like the O lineman were overrated.

I mean two years ago Damone Clark looked like a stud under Dave Aranda. This roster has all the talent in the world, but the coaches can’t use it and have failed to develop it in certain cases.

Coaching is lacking big time.. These guys aren't being developed.

Jenkins has been serviceable so far, but this year hes not doing well. Hopefully they all step tf up, even Boutte has missed some passes he would have caught last year. But the underperforming is basically OLine and primitive play calling.

Turn Nuss loose. Fix the receivers' hands and we have the Air McNair offense.

Bama is the measuring stick. How many of our starting offensive linemen could start at Alabama?Zero. How many of our starting wideouts could start at Alabama? One Could our starting QB start at Alabama? If given time by the line, Johnson might be able to compete for a starting job.How many of our starting defensive linemen could start at Bama? If we go with Gaye, Evans, Anthony, and Farrell as starters, the answer would be zero Gaye having an outside chance. Starting linebackers? Zero Starting defensive backs? Stingley and Ricks.

Marcel Brooks

Uh Marcel Brooks was pretty big contributor on the national title team. He just transferred to be closer to home in 2020.

Everyone is "star struck". They come in out of high school with all the stars but they aren't developed for one reason or another. Some can't handle the higher level of competition which is the case in most cases.

The issue is O doesn’t evenly recruit.

2017 we took 1 Cb and 3 safeties
2018 we took 1 DB (who transfered)
2019 we took 4 Cb (because we had so few at this point) and 0 safeties (we converted Ward this year)
2020 we took 2 CB 1 Saftey so no we have 1 safety since 2017.
2021 oh look we remembered we need safeties.

Oh Shyte, I thought this was Les' issue and O was gonna fix that.
