Is that for athletes, because it certainly wasn't that way for regular students?

I don't really know. Maybe it's a departmental thing. I know I had to get my advisor to sign off before I could schedule when I was in engineering. When I dropped out of engineering and was undeclared, I still had to go to the The Center for Advising and Counseling (UCAC), to get my courses approved. It was the same story, meeting with an assigned academic advisor, when I finished off my degree requirements in the College of the Coast & Environment.

Of course most of the time, the course planning consisted of me walking in, saying "I need these courses", and them signing the form.

When I say advisor, I mean the faculty member/professor assigned based on last name.

The head coach should make sure via delegation that your best RB is eligible.

You can't register without getting the flag lifted by your counselor after meeting for guidance. It's been that way since at least 2003 when I was a freshman

Flowchart?

You mean degree audit?

Things typically get easer with time, and degree audits decades ago were broken out by discipline showing you exactly what courses you need in order to finish your degree.

They were free and took about 2 minutes to get.

If John didn't have one, that's on John. It's his responsibility to get the courses he needs.

Again, if this was actually about scheduling the wrong course. I tend to think it isn't.

Wow. We had a catalog and phone and sipped cold beer while we were on hold with REGGIE.

I can't imagine being an adult with his future in his own hands but having to go beg some toolbag in an office to wipe my arse for me.

No wonder America is so fricking soft nowadays. Not you, but Americans at large.

So fricking wrong I don’t even know where to begin if I were to try and explain it to you.

Give it a shot.

What characteristic of John Emery makes him incapable of knowing what courses he should or shouldn't take?

Why do you think he's unable to possess that information and/or is unable to make the proper choices with that information?

It seems like you're wanting to come out and say something about him, but you haven't worked up the balls to do it.

I’m pretty sure It wasn’t intended to be in the form of an infant when they were told their boy would be taken care of

I didnt think the players scheduled their own classes though. I'm not sure how that works but I assumed the athletic program had people to do that.
