For anyone who is interested in that, just got done watching a really well done documentary about it. Really found it fascinating and interesting. In it, a journalist follows around a family and goes into their home and asks some very in depth questions. They talk about religion, politics and social media. Surprisingly, this family has a lot of the modern technologies the world uses today.

I was in Lancaster last weekend. Good folks the Amish are. Their horse carriages are interesting.

A crew of Mennonites, who are close cousins to the Amish, came down from Iowa in 2016 and helped people muck out their flooded houses. Free of charge of course.

I love a lot of what the Amish do. They are probably the happiest subset of Americans in the country. Practically no crime, obesity, or addiction. But as an overweight, fringe alcoholic electrical engineer, I wouldn't quite fit in. I want to, though.

Theres a genetic mutation found in the Amish community that causes some of them to be born with extra fingers, called Ellis–Van Creveld syndrome

There was an Amish restaurant in Americus GA that made an incredible meal and almost like cafeteria style serving but damn the roast, vegetables, gravy, roll, mash potatoes were Damn good. Would love to go to it or another like it again.

We buy most of our meat from the Amish counter at the local farmer's market. Beats anything you can get at the grocery store. Matter of fact, I'm about to go cook up some applewood bacon right now.

Peter Santenello's videos are amazing.

He goes into places you'd never want to and makes incredible videos.

Plus he makes a lot of videos about the destruction of the lock downs.

We should have Neo-Amish, who live their lives but reject anything coming after 2000. No woke bullshite. No social media.

Would be a decent life, like living in the 80s and 90s

The people in that video are not Amish. They are Mennonites.

That is not Amish.
Amish women don't dress in bright colors. They don't dress their kids like the English

Amish don't live in brick houses with electricity.

If you want to see real Amish go to Sonora or Munfordville, KY.
