This is precisely why I alternate from 10 mg of melatonin one night -> two Tylenol PMs the next night -> two Unisoms the next night -> Xanax the next night. Repeat.

My body never gets used to what I’m taking so it always works. If I don’t take anything, I’ll wake up at 12:30 thinking about work and my sleep is over…

I wonder if this is my problem, I do take melatonin, but the same pill/dosage every evening.

Finally got up at 330 after tossing and turning for 45 minutes. Got to work at 5am.

I started taking melatonin. Best thing I ever did. Seriously.

Yep, when I get up during my sleep cycle, and if I allow myself to start thinking about something at work, or something else that fires my brain, I am done, will not be going back to sleep. I fight it hard, but I lose most of the time.

It's pretty fricked up how I can get up to pee and the next thing I know I'm thinking about death and bad stuff like that. I keep a few "starter thoughts" in my back pocket to try and derail the heavy thoughts. It's stuff usually related to hobbies. Like I'll try and direct my thoughts to coming up with beer recipes. It's something I know a lot about and it can hold my attention with details until I fall back asleep.

Here is a good one to keep you up... how could Hitler have better utilized the Jews during WW2.
