Right. NL Wild card game is on Wednesday. So Braves/Rockies would play tiebreaker Tuesday

One of these years I just want pure mayhem

Tied division leaders, ties in the wild card, etc

Just 3 days of constant tiebreakers before the postseason

Possibility of a 5 way tie in the AL if you want to root for chaos

Maybe even 6 if the Astros don't get their heads out of their asses.

Ah, I guess it's impossible for Seattle and Oakland to both get to the Astros' current 91 wins.

One of them could, though, and it would be a simultaneous tie for the AL West and 5-way tie for the wild card.

No chance the Rays sweep the Yanks when they’ve got nothing to play for. Unless they just don’t want to see them in the playoffs

The fact that those two hate each other is a reason

There is zero chance that happens.

Why is anyone even brining that up at all?

That also happened to the Cardinals in 2006. There was a rainout against the Giants or some other team they don't play often. And the game was never made up since it had no playoff implications (the Astros finished 1.5 games behind). If the Astros finished .5 games out on the last day of the season, the Cardinals would have been forced to make up the rainout game since it would have had playoff implications. As it played out, they only played 161 games that year.

sorry... gonna step in real fast to make sure everyone realizes that a 100-win (possibly between 105-110 wins by the time the season ends) team is going to get a wild card spot

some poor 90-win division champ is gonna get fooked hard

ETA: oh wait... could we get a divisional series between the 2-100 win teams from the same division?

A 100 win team playing a one game is the one getting fricked hard

I just assume they're going to get through the WC game relatively easily and was just looking ahead to the divisional series

that said... yeah that might mess up their pitching for the Divisional Series

It’s one baseball game, random as hell. I wouldn’t just assume that

Cards win their 17th straight and clinch the 2nd wildcard.

Boston with a horrendous loss to Baltimore

Yanks beat Toronto and now have a 2 game lead for the 1st wild card spot

Mariners would be just a half game out if they beat the A’s tonight (currently lead 2-1 after 4)

Braves beat the Phillies which all but locks up the NL East for them barring an epic meltdown

I'm expecting a Seattle/Boston tie for the second spot. Seattle is going to keep winning and Boston is going to choke one more.

That'll be fun.

Two all or nothing games in a row.
