Seattle is a cute little story when no one is watching and your chances seem slim. It’s a lot different when there’s something on the line.

I mean Boston lost 2 of 3 to the O's with the playoffs on the line, so does that apply to them?

The Mariners are still as Mariner as they ever were. Gut punch loss last night.

And I don't think they will be worth a shite next year. Being way over .500 with a negative run differential isn't sustainable and is something that tends to correct itself the next year.

Their expected W-L based on their -49 run differential is 75-85.

At first I figured you were just being pessimistic and they were down 1-0

But damn 7-1 in the 3rd

Yankees lose then the WC is tied if Boston wins.

Jays would be 1 game back if they win
Mariners will be 1 game back if they win

tomorrow will be a win and in for Yankees and Sox but a loss and you need help

Do you think only teams that haven’t made it to the playoffs in 20 years are bothered by pressure baseball? Sure, it happens to other teams, too.

But it’s especially relevant to ask the question (or make the comment like I did) when a team that was on life support, gets scorching hot and gets within a game of a playoff spot, then loses to a sub .500 team at home on the final weekend of the season and hasn't been to the playoffs in 20 years.

I love the stadium. Spent a week there almost 10 years ago and went to handful of games there. People were very nice. I wouldn't mind seeing the Mariners in the playoffs. I'm glad they have a shot out of the West instead of the A's. But they need some help.

If somehow nats can pull a win tonight, and mariners also win...tomorrow is setting up to be crazy.

BOS takes the lead back in the top of the 9th, 2-1.

And another, 3-1 BOS.

And some more, 2R HR 5-1 BOS.

That puts both the Yankees and Red Sox in control with 1 game left. Mariners have to win tonight to have a shot tomorrow with still some help needed. Blue Jays need a win tomorrow and some help. Love this AL wild-card race.
