I may have missed your answer somewhere, but my question based on your comment above - so you’re belief is the fetus become a human being at about 6 months into the pregnancy?

I’m fine with abortions. Most people who get them don’t vote like me.
This. Every time a liberal feminist aborts xer fetus, an angel gets its wings.

Jesus was also a fan of slavery. He certainly didn't label it immoral.

What a fricked up whataboutism.

Slavery within the context of the NT writers wasn’t exactly the same thing as what we find in the blockbuster movies about American slavery.

I'm ok with saying all slavery is wrong. Why wasn't Jesus? We can argue nuance and say well sure Jesus was all about treating slaves better..... It sure seems like he would have preached against the entire construct if he didn't want slavery. He had no problem preaching against and even physically lashing out at established practices he found immoral.

I'm ok with saying all slavery is wrong.
Second, not all slavery is [objectively] wrong. The slavery most commonly practiced in Israel in the Bible was not chattel slavery that we think about today. It was more like indentured servitude, used to pay off debts or to provide for the needs of the impoverished who would voluntarily offer themselves as slaves to be cared for by their masters. The slaves had rights, as well.
quote:Because of the type of slavery that was commonly practiced in Israel at that time. We all have to be careful about projecting our own understanding on to cultures throughout history because they didn't have the same context as we do.

Like I said, the slavery that Jesus and the NT writers were in contact with wasn't the same kind of slavery that we're most familiar with. It had its purposes and benefits to society, including the slaves at the time, and it wasn't something to condemn as outright immoral for that reason.
