Cut Saints fans and Tiger Stadium some slack.

Do you remember Katrina? The whole region was in shock. People spending their time and money trying to put their homes and lives back together. Going to a Saints game was not on their top 100 list.

In a normal year, a Saints game in Tiger Stadium would have been awesome.

But when LSU was being used as a staging ground for rescue and relief efforts? When Baton Rouge had an extra 50,000 cars on its roads and you literally couldn't get anywhere because of the traffic nightmares? When we had shelters full of refugees? When many of us here in Baton Rouge were volunteering to help friends and family who lived in New Orleans or on the Northshore and were flooded?

It wasn't exactly the best time.

The Tiger Stadium games were dreadful. Hot as frick, limited concessions, terrible team, empty seats.
Went to the Miami game at Tiger Stadium (10/30/05)

Had suite tickets so that helped but the Saints were whipped puppies, losing 21-6.

Saban was the Dolphins’ HC, Will Muschamp & Jason Garrett were Asst. Coaches for him.

After the game, Taglibue & Tom Benson got heckled hard exiting the Suite elevator at ground level.

<——was there, it was tense for a couple of minutes, very little security present for the old rich dudes.

But did he get heckled as hard as Ditka against the Titans in 1999 when he walked off the field and checked his nuts?

Along with half the Baton Rouge locals in attendance cheering for the visiting team because it had a former LSU player on the roster. And don't get me started on the Miami game.

Yeah I just dont see Saints playing in BR as a good thing. I mean sure there are Saints fans in BR but there are a hell of a lot of people that are just die hard fans that root for any pro team that has LSU dudes on it. Look at all these Tampa and Cincy fans now.
