So my wife and I are both vaccinated and are planning on attending every game this season. I generally don't have a problem with the whole proof of vaccination or masks either, so that doesn't really concern me. What does though is this rumor I've heard about refunds. As SoloTiger said yesterday, there's allegedly 2 options:

quote:

1. Full refund of Tradition Fund and Season Ticket cost. If you choose this option you will give up your rights to those specific seats moving forward.

2. Partial Refund of Season Ticket cost. This means you will not receive a refund of your Tradition Fund, but you reserve the rights to your seats moving forward.

I haven't seen any official word from LSU about how they're going to do refunds but this seems like a really shitty thing to do to people who might want to sit this season out. A more equitable solution would be to allow these fans to roll their Tradition Fund over to next season without punishing them by (what feels like) stealing their seats. Last season was unprecedented not just here but nationwide, but the average ticket holder stuck by their Tigers. To force them to forfeit their aptly named "Tradition Fund".. some of which are several hundred dollars, is unfair to generations of season ticket holders.

I don't know if any of this is official yet, as according to LSU's covid policy, "Season ticket holders with questions regarding refund policies must email tickets@lsu.edu by Friday, August 27." But if it hasn't been officially decided to just knife these people in the back, I for one hope they change this policy before it's too late.

Oh its legit and I've sent off my request to get my full refund. I'll keep my money for future seasons too. Not the smartest move as the demand for season tickets has been on the decline around the country. This will only push those on the fence away. Season ticket holders around coming back anytime soon with the prices as they are, restrictions, parking, banning of tailgating in areas, and crackdown of fun in general on gamedays over the last few years.

Again, I know there's a lot of questions about the refund policy - but has this specifically been asked yet? And if not, is there going to be any official answers?

<——— Family has had season tickets since 72. Getting full refund. No plans of returning to TS in the foreseeable future. Disappointed and disgusted with the whole university. If you’re not that’s A-ok with me. My body, my choice.

But there's going to be vaccination requirements next season also. Power-hungry bureaucrats aren't going to give this up.

Not taking any side here, but LSU had 45-50,000 season ticket holders opt out last year that got full refunds with no ramifications. The Athletic Budget shortfall was somewhere between 60-80 million dollars due to Covid.

I don't think LSU was willing to do another full refund policy after last year and hold peoples' place in line.

Season ticket renewals were down 4,000 compared to 2019. TBH, when I renewed my tickets, I could have relocated just about anywhere in the stadium so I don't think the folks who lose their place in line will have trouble getting back in, it just may be a better seat or it may be a worse seat.

The vaccination policy may last a game, a month, or the whole season. Folks just need to do what's best for them.

I would have opted out and don’t care about tickets this year. Can get new seats next year. But the kick in the balls is if you demand a refund you lose parking. I worked hard for 26 years of season tickets and lose my parking spot. The parking is so hard to get again

Dear Tiger Fan,

We appreciate your support of LSU Athletics, and we thank you for past patronage.

As requested, below are your options concerning a refund for your 2021 Football Season tickets:

Option 1 – Standard Refund: In accordance with our longstanding refund policy, all those who request, for any reason, refunds of their tickets, parking passes, and TAF contributions will have their payments returned in full. Ticket holders who opt for a standard refund will lose all rights to renew these items for future years. This standard refund option has been available to ticket holders in previous seasons and remains available for the 2021 season. If you are a TAF premium seating ticket holder, your contract will be voided for the remainder of the term.

Option 2 – Limited Refund: A new policy for the 2021 season, fans who opt for a Limited Refund will receive payments for the price of their tickets and parking prices only. Any Tradition Fund or TAF seat contributions for the 2021 year will be considered a donation, and ticket holder will retain their renewal rights next season at full cost. If you are a TAF premium seating ticket holder, this option will allow you to remain in your current contract.

Decisions will be applied to the account as a whole, rather than on an individual ticket-by-ticket basis. Parking and tickets will be treated the same.

If you would like exercise one of these options, please click here to fill out the refund request form. The deadline to submit your request is this Friday, August 27. A member of our sales and service team will be in contact with you as soon as possible, beginning next week.

Geaux Tigers,

I don’t understand.

They are allowing TF to roll over and keep your seats next year if you request only your ticket cost back.

This country is fricked if these vaccinated sheep don’t stand up to mandates.

Held 5 seats in the NEZ for the last 38yrs. To submit these options to loyal ticket holders weeks before the start of the season is just not right. It's unfortunate as we love LSU sports and supporting the Tigers, but this was the last straw.
I have no confidence that things will improve in the future, this BS will not stop.
