I have to latch on to some optimism with all the negativity out there. Hopefully I can share some of that with y’all - numbers are dropping and expect that to continue.

They are going to frick with these numbers as long as they need people to comply. Not a chance in hell I believe them

Looks like it was 6,619 cases on 48,718 tests- 13.6%.

What is the light pink bracket around the dark pink? I’m assuming it’s some sort of probability or error envelope. Really curious about the spike around 8/8

This continues the trend we've seen for a few weeks now. Our Rt may be the lowest in the nation.

You may find this hard to believe, but viruses don't care if you believe in them or anything about them.

As for the increase in diagnosed cases, this is not surprising as diagnosis follows behind exposure and the the downturn doesn't mean that people aren't still spreading the disease. The rate of spread has slowed. We would expect diagnosis and hospitalization counts to run about two weeks behind this stat.

And I recall folks reporting that hospitalizations were beginning to fall.

This wave may be over.

So the CDC didn't "adjust" Florida's numbers down recently?

This bodes very well as we enter football season. Record low cases en route

LA’s case average has come down more than 1,000 cases in the last 10 days so the Rt value is proving to be true. Today was a big number about 2,000 more than the daily case average. There’s going to be some wobble on the way down but we’re still trending right.

I wouldn’t if not for the folks on this board. It appears virtually no one else is even talking about it when some optimistic news could give people hope. But hope is pretty expensive these days.

Can't speak for the other 9, but I downvoted you because you took issue with someone not believing numbers that have definitely been fudged over the last 18 months.
