My adult advice is to not listen to the collective bravado and ignorance here. Heed the suggestions and directives of your local officials.

We are staying here in BR. Don’t expect it to be fun but the in-laws have a generator so we can go there once roads are clear. We are in a newly developed part of our neighborhood so no big trees to worry about coming down. I just hate being without electricity.

Your options are a) die, or b) come back to a worse version of MC. Not as tough a choice as you make it out to be

The New York Post has what looks to be a misleading headline about a direct hit to New Orleans and an even more dishonest quote. Am I missing something?

I figured some or all of those places were actually out. Hopefully Carson found some.

Seems like about half the people I’ve talked to in Mandeville are heading out of town. The fam and I are planning on staying put for now. Will check in the morning and see if anything changed, but if forecast remains the same we are staying.

Why is this constantly said? Are people in here beating there cheats and bragging about staying? Some people just don’t have a big necessity to leave.

I’m staying in BR. My gf is actually moving from Houston here tomorrow after 3 years of long distance. I told her to stay put for a while but her new job will probably require her to go in sometime this week so she decided to come anyway… what a welcome home party

If it keeps current track, then we will go tomorrow. We are in greenleaves. Too many trees to take a chance

I think the conventional wisdom is that if you have somewhere else to go that wouldn’t be a bad idea absent some reason to stay.

If you stay, have food, water, full tank of gas and expect to be out of power for 3-5 days at least.

Tried to convince my wife that I needed to stay at the camp in Belle River which is 11 miles up highway 70 from MC. If my structure was a bit more sound I may but i lost the battle. Fear tonight will be my last night at this camp come Monday/Tuesday.
