Agree…I’m almost certain they will wake up in the morning and change their mind
I was staying for Laura because my Pop wasn’t leaving. The morning of the storm, when they announced a Cat4, I went to talk to him and saw him throwing a bag in his truck (I was thanking God that he came to his senses). I went home and grabbed my dogs. I ended up somewhere around New Orleans before I found a vacant hotel that would take me and two GSD’s.

We left the hotel at 7am to head back. I stayed on 90 almost the entire way. Found a station with a diesel pump on a generator and bagged ice somewhere near Iowa. I had to drive through ditches because of the poles and lines laying across the highway. The destruction was god awful.

Y’all in the path, GTFO. It ain’t worth it.

Terrebonne Parish will be under a Mandatory Parish Wide Evacuation effective at 6:00 am Saturday, August 28th. There will be an evacuation site of H.L Bourgoies High School that will be open at 6:00am on August 28th to provide transportation to individuals in need. From H.L. Bourgoies, evacuees will be transport to another location out of harms way. Sheriff Soignet advised that a parish wide curfew will be in effect beginning at 6:00pm on Saturday August 28th.

I have never thought about evac-ing BR. I usually ride it out and if power is going to be out for a week leave after it passes. Are people saying BR should consider leaving? I was out of town for Gustav. Not flood prone (I know, I know, but really). Do have a large pine in my front yard.

Anyone headed north out of Baton Rouge on US 61 be aware the gas situation is dwindling fast. St Francisville is running out and the truckstop at the La / Ms line on US 61 has a line and a lot of short tempers

My house is in Dutchtown, camp in Pigeon.
My butt's staying at the house, I'll check on the camp sometime next week.

Yup. A lot of it floods during an afternoon rainstorm - the winds are something else to consider.

We were out of power for 8 days with Gustav, my neighbors across the street, 14 bc it’s two different grids

I'm debating flying out of BR tomorrow or going to the beach, not for safety reasons, I just don't want to be inconvenienced without power/AC for multiple days.

Not sure if this counts as an "evacuation" or not.

Mayor said there will be no mandatory evac for New Orleans. Not because they don’t want to, but it’s too late to do it with contraflow.

Any of y'all planning or have already gone down to Venice to get their boat out of harms way?
