AC power flickering

What is the OT position on whether to turn off modern AC unit if power is blipping? Obviously want to keep AC on as long as possible but is flickereing a few times every 10 minutes.

I have never thought about evac-ing BR. I usually ride it out and if power is going to be out for a week leave after it passes. Are people saying BR should consider leaving? I was out of town for Gustav. Not flood prone (I know, I know, but really). Do have a large pine in my front yard.

Wife got tickets through the call in line (!). Anyone know how seating works? Says general admission on the tix. Can’t find an explanation online.

I liked all of the following, which give some variety to the genre:
Station 11 (Traveling troup of playmakers/circus type thing after apocalypse)-HBO is about to release a series based on this one.
Dog Stars (Dude in the mountains with his dog. Saw someone call it "a river runs through it meets the road" and that is an apt description.
Both are flu based apocalypse, so good quarantine reads.
