I was VERY high on this team a few months ago. With Myles and Dare out, I am a tad less confident.

I think it's safe to say our defense will be better(not saying much). The question is can the OL block a damn soul? Can we run the damn ball? If we can, we will be a 9 or 10 win team.

I still like LSU to cover the over 8 wins, but not as confident as I was.

Ok Max.

I can remember feeling worse about going into seasons. The LSU fan in me says 11-1 but the college football fan in me wouldn’t be shocked at 9-3 losing a game we shouldn’t. Floor at 8-4

Tricky games: UCLA, Kentucky, Ole Miss

Always Tough: Auburn, Florida, A&M

The Hump: Bama

Optimistic, but less so than in 2019.

I knew the 2019 team would be good (though not THAT good). I THINK this team will be good. But I’m not certain

I’m optimistic, but for more of a better looking 2018 outcome than 2019. I do think this team has the talent to compete with anyone on the schedule if it all comes together and we can avoid major injury issues. I think this team gells and plays well, but will stumble once or twice.

I also think there will be multiple freshmen either starting or playing notable roles by the end of the season, but not because of poor play by vets. I think we have some guys in this class who will just be too good to keep off the field and they will be ready to roll by that point.

Ceiling is 11 wins I feel like. Just don’t see what it takes to go undefeated. Floor is 7 wins probably. I want to believe and be optimistic but last year really made me wonder what Orgeron is doing. We have first time coordinators and nobody knows how they can actually coach in a game and correct mistakes. Last year wasn’t all on Pelini. I just can’t accept that as a fact. Max had 1 game with great stats but that game his completion % wasn’t very good. He had one other game with decent stats and the rest he was average. Maybe that was freshman related. The schedule isn’t easy with Bama, Florida, Auburn and A&M as all tough games. Then you have Ole Miss that almost beat us last year despite giving us the ball so many times.

On the plus side I see better talent and depth on defense if they are healthy. On offense I think the OL will come together by SEC play. Max will use his feet some to help us out. The running game has to be better.

Overall I think the team is better but not enough to beat everybody. There are likely 2-3 losses on that schedule in reality.

Despite the 2 starts, Max is still inexperienced to the rigors of an SEC schedule. I expect some bumps in the road along the way. Along with the unknowns at RB and questions beyond Boutte at WR. And I'll be honest I don't believe in this o-line.

I see a 9-3 ceiling with maybe a 4th wtf loss. Losses to Bama, Florida, A&M.

I'm thinking 9-3 to 11-1

My gut says 10-2

Zero expectations. I think we could be badass or we could suck and have a 6 win season.

No way they only win 6 games. Anything under 9 wins and heads need to roll. I feel like it's probably a 10-2 team.

Injuries will dictate our record. Fully healthy at OL, RB hand QB 10 wins is legit 11 if ball bounces our way.

We’re better than people think with so many key parts in place. It’ll come down to how the team gels and responds as the season progresses.

Spot on!

Offense: Not sure how good our O-line will be, I feel like they will start slow but get better like they did in 2019. I also think the RB’s follow suit getting better each week. Max was a true freshman last year with no offseason. He didn’t have gaudy numbers and left the pocket a little early some (freshman type shite), but he had intangibles that helped us win those last 2 games when it looked like the team had given up. He has shown he is a leader and looks to have that swagger his teammates will feed off of. He has great DNA as the son of a Super Bowl winning QB. Kid knows the game. I feel really good about his potential after a full camp, and I think next to Boutte, at least 1 or more WR’s will emerge for him. It’s inevitable and a matter of time. Watch out for Lee and BTJ

I think Peetz can game plan but his ability to adjust in game is yet to be seen. He seems to have a high football IQ. Remember, Brady had never called plays prior to LSU, so Im not necessarily buying the “he’s never called plays before”. We also brought back Mangus, who was big in Brady’s system in terms of game planning and helping with adjustments. He will help bring along those WR’s too.

Defense: I think our d-line is going to cause mayhem. Anthony and Gaye off the edge with BJ rotating in, QB’s will be running for their life. LSU needs to have better gap discipline than they did last year up the middle and I do worry about our defense up the middle (specifically at the 2nd level). But I think the additions of Strong, Burns, Jones and some good freshman at the safety position makes me more comfortable. Our CB’s will be 2 of the best in the nation and I worry about Flott in the nickel. If Sage can develop and take that, he has more upside. Daronte Jones coached under both Dave Aranda and Mike Zimmer, 2 of the greatest defensive minds in the game. Im confident he knows his shite. He also has a ton of help with Raymond and Carter, 2 NFL guys who know how to coach up their position groups and can be leaned on.

3 straight top 5 recruiting classes. Talent everywhere.

We’re primed baws. Enjoy it.

How anyone could feel anything other than positive heading into this season is crazy. Full offseason, great recruiting class & transfers, weight & conditioning training, and camp. We have some decent offensive staff hires and a full defensive coaching staff with each group having substantial experience. Plus, can you imagine how much last season is being drilled into the players? This is going to be a scrappy team with a lot of leaders. Going to see some inspired 2nd half performances this year with adjustments. The best phrase to describe this team is….High Potential

Defensively, the front 7 is going to be straight up nasty, this is going to be our best group in a decade. Our secondary will be running more zone concepts which I think will drastically improve our defense overall, specifically how we attack the passing game and blitz. I think our defense guarantees us 7 wins alone.

Offensively, all the skill positions are loaded we just need consistency, especially from the QB and RB groups. Max just needs to be a 60% passer if we have some solid RB play. Unfortunately, TDP is dealing with a nagging ankle and Emory would really need to step up. I’m looking for the freshman RBs to show up for us here, could be the biggest surprise on offense. WR room is loaded, just catch the ball. OLine is going to make or break our offense, this group has potential but I’m afraid if they start to slide it won’t stop until the season is over. Looking for this group to continuously improve through the first 4 games, need to bully those DLines and allow for the offense to operate at will. If the group can manage then we should have some success against Auburn, UF, & Bama. Fortunately for us those three teams are dealing with tremendous personnel losses.

Overall, we should have at minimum 8 wins. If the OLine has any sort of improvement, 10 wins. If the OLine has marked improvement, 12 wins.

I think our defense is going to be nasty. They will keep us in games while Max starts to figure it out which won’t take long. Bet the over on games won this season. Going to be fun.
