You can never hit them hard enough IMO. You’re sitting on a metal detectorist dream if it’s not federally protected land.

I always see guys using them at the beach, and I'm sure they find quite a bit of lost jewelry. Last year, somebody probably found my dumb arse wife's lost ring.

I know a friend’s kid who about 5 years ago found some other guy’s dumb arse wife’s ring at the beach. A really nice diamond ring.

When I was working at a sports card memorabilia shop one year, I believe it was Donruss that put out a special set a cards you could collect inside the individual packs. The cards were made with some kind of metallic gold leaf flake type paint or something like that.

We used an old school stand up type sweeper metal detector to scan each pack to find those cards. Worked pretty well.

That's all the experience I have. Hope that helps.

I was wondering if anyone would get it. Great show. I hated to see it end.

A hunting buddy dropped one of those big arse semi-auto handguns in the trenasse (a ditch in the marsh used for boat travel.

Went back a week later with a hand held underwater detector. Found it. I think the weapon was called a “ Desert Eagle”.

He borrowed the detector from a survey company. This was in the early 80’s.

Yeah. Garrett Pro Pinpointer (looks like a dildo) in conjunction with the medal detector is a game changer. Little rascal puts you right on the find off the medal detector. Saves so much time. Killer

I do. I have a White's MXT I've been using for 10+ years. Best one out there.

Found these two on family land here in GA. Top is one of three Confederate buckles I've found. The bottom is a pewter Light Dragoons buckle from the War of 1812. One of only two in known existence.

Interesting. Do you just use a magnet on a rope type thing?

Yes - you can get the magnets from Amazon and some good ski rope.
Start out around docks and under rural bridges.
Some amazing things can be found.

My son had one when he was about 10. Took it to the beach and the only thing we came back with was the knowledge that Bud Light bottle caps outnumbered Corona and Coors Light 3-1.
