So are yall wanting the military to go door to door countrywide and track people down and bring them to Kabul or the airport? That ship sailed days to weeks ago.
Just trying to understand what you all are expecting to be done at this point. Given all the failures to happen thus far, I don't understand the additional outrage over stating that we can't guarantee military assistance after our deadline to pull out our forces.

This explains a lot. When you don’t understand a situation, you should sit down and shut up. Your responses are embarrassing…AOC level embarrassing….Tlaib type is more fitting.

Can we just ban this moron for the next two weeks? I’m in no mood doing bullshite when 10,000 American lives are on the line, not to mention our allies, the Afghani translators, and the women and children about to be put back in sex slavery. This isn’t fricking funny or minor.

These citizens got left behind enemy lines because our government fricked up so badly that they couldn’t tell them to get our.
In fact, they were telling them to hunker down rather than head to the embassy.
Leaving these people behind after such a horrible failure is consigning them to death or worse because a bunch of bureaucrats thought they were smarter than everyone else.

Yes

quote:Good grief. The FIRST thing a person in power should NOT do is take options OFF the table. This is more telegraphing weakness. The US has explicity, and publicly, told the Taliban they can wait it out and have 10,000 hostages if they want them.

We're doing everything but sending Biden over there to take a knee. Maybe he'll go when he's done with his vacation?

I have a dumb question here. Were any of these people planning on staying after the military left, anyway? I ask because I am somewhat skeptical of the State dept/intel community turning on Biden because the NGO and private contractor gravy train is being turned off. In other words, I don't feel quite so bad for those people who were planning on staying to cash in for the foreseeable future and circumstances have now gone south on them. But, if it's mostly volunteers or something, that's a different story.

No shite, that's the issue with the entire withdrawal. Biden had no plan for any of this which is what has led to this debacle.

Sounds remarkably similar to "What difference, at this point, does it make?"

Take the handcuffs (ROEs) off our military forces and let them unleash their fury in order to accomplish the mission and bring the people home.
Don't let this turn into Benghazi part 2.
