Friend just texted saying Woody emailed staff congratulating them on record sales this year that even eclipsed 2019.

People are ready to be back in a full stadium with 102K best of friends. Put all of the other BS aside and let us have our glory back.
I am beyond ready to be in Tiger Stadium this year.. last year was just a disgrace and not remotely close to same.
Ready for these boys to make a good run and for the Freshman/Covid Freshman/Transfers to experience the REAL Death Valley!

How many of those are just "roll overs" from last season rather than "tickets sold"?
I know multiple people, including some in my own family, that technically have purchased tickets for 2021 (though really just rollovers from 2020) but absolutely do not plan to attend due to concerns over covid.
I know others who plan to attend as of now, but who won't should LSU/the state implement requirements of proof of vaccine/negative test.
I think it will be interesting to see how many actually show up this season. And while the 2021 sales might be "good", what will it look like in the future?

how many season tickets are available? If 8k go to visitors, another ~10k (I'm guessing) to students, and then however many for single game ticket sales, 70k has to be close to selling out all available season tickets right?

We rolled ours over but I guarantee I’m going to every home game I can!!

Yeah, we didn't roll over and kept our tickets last year (and will this year as well), but I think they were only used for two games last season. My family is in TN so it really wasn't worth the hassle to get down to BR for a bunch of COVID games, but my parents are those people that feel like they can't not pay for their season tickets every year and are scared of losing them forever if they don't.

Guys a lot of schools are having a hard time selling tickets. Believe it or not that also includes Bama

That's interesting that we had record sales in 2019. I guess it was the 2014 expansion because since then I've gotten emails about remaining season tickets and I never got those before then. I had thought season ticket sales were declining based on that. Maybe we just overbuilt our capacity a little?

If I had to guess, the outrageous parking, expensive tickets and other minor factors like that may have something to do with. Also the product on the field was under Les than qualified hands.

Ticket sales were down before COVID and COVID just accelerated that process. I fear this issue is only going to get worse and you'll see people downsize stadiums for more amenities and premium seating. Many schools are already going this route, including Alabama. They're removing a huge chunk of seats from the upper deck in the endzone to put a new larger jumbo tron and adding a terrace. I believe it is expected to significantly reduce capacity. The chunk of seats they're removing is about 10k seats, and they won't be replaced with even close to that many.

This isn't just an LSU problem. The costs of attending football games everywhere has gotten out of control, and when you can watch every game on a a 70 inch HD TV from the comfort of your home, it kind of decentivizes the need to attend every game for a lot of fans.

Wait until they say you have to be
vaccinated for fans to enter. That will stop a bunch from going

I agree. A lot of people think: “why deal with the shite parking, expensive tickets and tailgating, overpriced beer, when I can watch the game with the best seat in the house. My house!”
It’s upsetting because I grew up tailgating and going to every home game, and sadly a lot of the demographic that did that has aged out.

Well, at the same time, even back when I was a kid in the early 90s, you had to go to games to be able to see all of them. We only had 3-4 games on TV most seasons, so you were left with going to the game or listening to it on the radio.

This is where most of my family and friends are. I gave up my season tickets when LSU started with the BLM garbage, but was still planning to attend a few games with friends or purchase single game tickets second hand. That said, if proof of vaccine status and/or masking is required, I’m taking a hard pass.

"A few new details emerged about the $92.5 million first phase of a Bryant-Denny Stadium renovation that AL.com first reported Tuesday. The large video board and student terrace originally planned for the south end zone upper deck are out.
When announced last August, the video board would have eliminated a large portion of the 8,500 upper deck seats added in 2010. At the trustees meeting Thursday, Byrne said the capacity of the stadium -- currently listed at 101,821, will now drop by a few hundred seats and still remain above 100,000."

You can let them know that I’ll happily take those tickets off their hands

I can give an arse rats what the players do in their own time, I just want cheaper parking and a good product on the field.
