Iceland & Israel are two of the most vaxx'ed countries in the world

Iceland has record-high new cases despite nearly 95% of Icelanders over age 16 being vaccinated…one of the highest rates in the world!
The US just upgraded travel to Iceland to Level 4: DO NOT TRAVEL.
Israel isn't doing so hot either.
Nearly 80% of the population over age 12 are vaccinated (one of the highest rates).
Current 7-day average cases in Israel: about 5k
7 day average about a year ago: 1.5k
Daily covid deaths in Israel are now greater than this time one year ago.
7 day average on August 12, 2020 = 10 deaths
7 day average on August 12, 2021 = 13 deaths
A timeline on how quickly things changed

Why are you blaming black people?

I don't see race. Only hues...and anything lighter than almond must be put into submission.

That graph suggests that vaccination has been incredibly successful at reducing the number of deaths.
Look at the number of cases in August of 2020 compared with the number of cases in August of 2021. Far more cases now yet a similar number of deaths.
Similarly, when Israel had 7000 cases in Jan-March, there were over 50 deaths per day. The number of deaths has reduced significantly.
Isn't that what vaccination is about? Reducing the number of deaths.

Sure
If the vaccine works, it works
Why does it matter if a few don't want it...
...unless the vaccine doesn't work
So either way...who gives a shite?

So your logic is that even though they have more deaths overall right now, the vaccine is working because they also have more cases which means fewer deaths on a percentage basis compared to last year?

By his logic?
shite...if logic walked through the door 90% of liberals/Marxists/neocons would cease to exist

Also further calls into question these idiotic vax or neg test policies here. Since you know, you can still get it and give it to others when vaxxed up

Yea
"Look the vaccine works because even though there are WAY more people getting sick now there are fewer dying percentage-wise!"
I can't believe someone seriously typed that to support a so-called vaccine and thinks it makes sense. Blows my mind how some people function.

My logic is that case numbers heavily correlates to the number of deaths. Right now, case numbers are as high as some levels in previous peaks yet the number of deaths are far lower. Hence, this suggests that vaccination is working at reducing death rates/hospitalisations which was the whole point.
I'll give you another example of a country that's lifted all restrictions and yet has low numbers of deaths despite the high case numbers.
The UK had 94 deaths today and total new cases today (7 day average) is around 28,132. Last time, total new cases were around 28,132 in the UK was on the 24th January 2021. Deaths were around 1240 on that day.
This was before everyone had been vaccinated. This suggests that vaccination has reduced the number of deaths.
Obviously, there's a lag between case numbers and deaths but the point still stands if you take a 28-day average.

Then why do we need travel restrictions on the most vaccinated countries?

No it wasn't. That goalpost was moved when they suddenly realized about a month ago that it doesn't stop the spread or stop people from getting sick still.

The vaccine is proving to CAUSE more cases over time as the actual data bares out in countries like this.
How can a country have MORE cases than last year when there is only 5% of the population to work with?
The vaccine is causing an issue and it's being covered up

That's the whole point of covid vaccination - to reduce the number of deaths/severe effects of COVID. As long as they're not clogging up ICUs, it doesn't really matter.
It's the entire reason governments around the world have been making a big deal about it. As long as hospitalizations are reduced, that's the whole point.
And case numbers might be higher because there are no restrictions. It doesn't necessarily mean the vaccine doesn't reduce transmissions - in the peak of the pandemic, there were restrictions in Israel, the UK etc.

hasnt percentage of death vs cases dropped significantly here? perhaps the newer variants are much less deadly, or the virus took out a large percentage of the weak on the first couple of rounds.

It absolutely stops people from getting sick.
Hospitalization numbers are far lower than they were in the peak of the pandemic and even under restrictions.
