Brother-in-Law, 56. Big/tall guy and by definition obese, but no someone you'd say "...that guy is fat". Doctor recommended him to not take the vaccine because he had a widow-maker heart attack in the Anchorage airport 3 years ago, I'm assuming because of scarring of heart tissue. His doctor prescribed Ivermectin to use as a prophylactic.
His wife/my sister has had COVID, one of his two brothers and entire family has had COVID, and a few people he works with have contracted COVID. He's either never had COVID, or the symtoms were so mild he hasn't noticed. All ancecdotal of course.

I took it at the first sign of symptoms and a positive diagnosis, very mild case.
My wife tested positive, day 3 was running 103 degree fever and absolutely miserable. (She pretty much never gets sick)Started Ivermectin. 24 hours later she was up and feeling much better.
Several friends and family members have pretty much the same results.
Anecdotal? Yes. However, the decision to take the med was based on all the research that is out there. As of now, I have seen nothing that shows any side effects to be concerned with.
IMO, the biggest mistake being made is sending home our patients without aggressive treatment at the first sign of symptoms.

I’ve been on it for about 6 months. I take vitamins d, c, and zinc as well.
Currently I’m putting it to the test. My wife tested positive last wed. I got a negative test Friday.
I have one side effect. It’s tightness in my neck. But I’ve been close to several people and so far I’ve not gotten it.

I seriously doubt my doc will prescribe ivermectin, or any damn decent real drug. He gave me some diabetes meds, one of the side effects is your junk may fall off.
So I bought 2 tubes of the horse paste at TSC yesterday, just in case. $4.99/ea. I'll need to do some dosage research.
I got the first moderna shot in march. Had an appt yesterday for 2nd shot, but got cold feet and cancelled.
How would a person go about finding a dr. who does prescribe ivermectin?

I know a group of college kids at an agricultural school in South Georgia that rented together and all got scabies. Apparently, it itched like hell.
One of them went and got a tube of peanut butter tasting Ivermectin livestock paste and they divided up the weight of a horse to human size and all took it for a couple of days. Killed the scabies and didn't kill them.

Only thing I've read or been told (haven't done myself) is to try the frontline docs website .. think there's a cost associated with it and I think that they ask you to not say you're sick if you aren't when going through the questions.

Also I should say that initially where I work all positive residents were given hydroxy. That was mid April to June-ish last year.
Earlier this year, we had 2 pop positive and they were given ivermectin .. prescribed, not paste. One ended up in hospital; one did not. Both lived. Until one died several months later from general decline and malnutrition/not eating.

I take the human prescription form. I take it prophylactically once a week with zero side effects.

I've been using the Advantage topical flea and tick medication for my Covid prevention medication. I have been around people that had covid and the advantage protected me very well from getting the covid. Also got that stupid covid shot which doesn't do jack shite.
if you can't get the ivermectin then get the Advantage, Pet Smart sells it. Or just get the Advantage, works better than Ivermectin from what I can tell.

Is this sold as a 'fish antibiotic' type product? For animals but humans take it?
You're thinking about Chloroquine

In case it's unclear to anyone, this comment is facetious. The active ingredients in Advantage flea & tick medication are imidacloprid and permethrin, not ivermectin.

We take it every 7 days for preventative care.

For preventative care, those in the control group who took ivermectin once/weekly had 100% success rate.

A family member has taken it as a prophylactic for covid. I have some vials of the liquid version for family members.
Posted on 8/10/21 at 10:21 am to berrycajun
The Wife, myself, and about a dozen people we know all kicked Covid’s butt with it.

What’s dosage for preventative use.

Yes, I take ivermectin prescribed by a doctor for a condition completely unrelated to Covid. I have had no side effects and anecdotally, I have not had Covid.
Regarding veterinary applications of ivermectin, the active ingredient (ivermectin) is the same, the carrier is what is different.

Ya know, there's a reason there's one for human consumption and one for horse consumption....
Yeah, its because the medicine is proportioned by weight. Unless you know many humans that can get to 1,000 pounds or more?
