No, you can’t get all blue chips (like Will Campbell) on the OL. You gotta take developmental guys like West, who seems to have solid upside at Center.

No he earned his offer in camp, and did really well on both the defensive and offensive side of the ball.

Well find out. Brad Davis, Coach O signed off on bringing him in and Alabama offered him as well. Lloyd Cushenberry worked out and see him as a similar level recruit.

What's the reason for questioning his validity as a stud? He has some things you can't teach. He is very quick to be that size and very strong. He can fill in whichever line needs him most should we face a tough decision to do so.

Kid will probably be multi year starter when it's all said and done. Underrated

His recruiting rankings are so low because he was being graded as a DL. He may stay lowly ranked. But the ONLY thing that matters is LSU worked him on offense and coaches loved him as IOL. As stated above Bama offered as O- lineman also. That’s all that matters. I may be wrong but isn’t he having to stay on defense , due to his HS needs or have things changed and he is O-line for LCA ?

Trev Faulk really raves about him. I know it’s his player, but I think he’s shooting straight

Will play OL and DL for LCA, which has a couple of marquee games in Acadiana & Catholic-BR.

LCA also takes on Lafayette High & Westgate (and gets Zachary in the jamboree)

Some LCA talk on this thread for anyone who might be interested https://louisianasportsline.proboards.com/thread/11286/lca-chance-1-team-louisiana

If Ed O and Nick Saban offered him as an interior offensive linemen,as opposed to a defensive linemen that he prefers to play, it's okay by me. As both those two coaches are experts and know what they are doing.

If you are talking about his mid three star rating, that rating is as a defensive linemen, as opposed to an offensive linemen where he deserves to be ranked, where his rating would be far higher, and where he will be playing.

So yeah, definitely not. That Alabama offer came right after his LSU one at a camp too, so it's legit.

This is true. I'm someone who typically puts more stock than most into stars and recruiting rankings, but with OL, you have to be able to turn 3*s into solid players even if you're one of the big boys.

OL has (pretty comfortably) the biggest translation gap in terms of evaluation and ability transference between HS and college, which means two things: 1) there aren't (m)any plug-and-play type kids--making development extra important; and 2) there just aren't that many 4 and 5* kids to go around, so you gotta take 3*s.
