If your employer fires you because you won’t get the COVID vaccine, don’t expect to collect unemployment

Completely voluntary.

Remember when they were talking about making life untenable for people who decline the jab?

---but if you feel mistreated due to racism or sexism, you may collect -EVEN IF YOU QUIT- if your feelings are hurt bad enough.

Seems more than fair.

After all, the people scared of modifying their RNA are murdering us by exhaling their toxic germs.

If you're fired in general, don’t expect unemployment. You may be able to finagle it, but it's far from a sure thing. However, I'd imagine most companies would structure such dismissals as layoffs rather than firings.

Yeah I don’t know how it works now with the crazy high covid unemployment benefits but I’m pretty sure that’s how it’s always been. Unemployment is only for if you get laid off not fired

Many states will pay if you are fired. You usually just have to serve a waiting period of a few weeks.

Any termination that is without cause entitled a person to unemployment.

Termination for not taking the vaccine will be a hotly litigated issue and I assume a winning one for lawyers

Is it in the employee hand book and did u sign the changes in the employee handbook?

Many cases have been won and lost based on what specifically is in the employee handbook.

Again, in many states termination or quitting doesn't disqualify you for unemployment.

I worked in UI in 2020 doing investigations.

If you feel taking a vaccine is unsafe, then it becomes a safety issue.
I've quit a job over a safety issue and drew unemployment.

Employers set their own policies regarding conditions for employment. A prospective employee can choose somewhere else to work--not everyone mandates the jab as a condition of employment, even now.

My work set it up to say you are "voluntarily quitting" by not taking the vaccine.

I haven't seen anyone that was fired to talk to them about it. We lost maybe 20/70 people.

This is correct, but bullshite.

Majority of companies don't give a frick, and won't fight your UE benefits. ONly the biggest shite heads would fight you getting it, because you refused to take the vax.

Let's see people who feel this strongly about saying ok fire me I'm not being a lab rat. I don't think would really care about unemployment, they would just find something that didn't enforce the inoculations. No big deal.

I find it hard to believe that someone who gets fired here in Alabama for not getting the shot would be denied unemployment.

Man, I LOVE these measures that hold people accountable for their actions, or inactions. But why isn’t this approach used for people who refuse to take a job in a full employment economy? Why are thieves released with no consequences?
