It was rough for a while. We were known as the only factory around that required it. We just operated short handed and went to 12 hour shifts until they dropped the requirements. We already had a large Hispanic workforce, but im not sure that increases during the time period.
I had a mess at work over the forced jab. I worked in a factory so it wasn't like I couldn't just get another job. I decided to fight it. They fired the majority of our maintenance crew and a lot of people just left. I was told many times how good the company lawyers are.
Well, I found a lawyer to finally take up the case. They handled everything for me, for free.
I keep seeing these news stories and it makes me wonder what would have happened if they did fire me.

I grew up right around Athens and didn't hear about it until a few years ago from a Youtube video.
re: Now that rail workers are receiving pay increases of 24% how much y’all asking?

I received a little over 13% increase this year. I'm amazed they gave me anything after I was the only employee to request an exemption to mandatory vaccinations.
The guys under me went from $14 an hour starting pay, up to $20 minimum.

My wife opted out of hers after jumping through all the hoops. I didn't, and just decided to take that payment and pay extra on some bills each month.
My payments were: $180,$225,$300,$23,and $22.

re: In 6 months time my job has gone from paying new hires $14.50 to now $18.00 HR.

When I started in 2011, the starting pay was $8.13 an hour for packaging in a plant. Now they start at $15 an hour.
I have been in my current position for about 5 years. It started out at $14 and I was just bumped up to $21.80 in September.
I was content with that, until I found out the new guy I was training was making $22. He was brought in while the company was ignoring my religious exemption request...so I'm assuming he was meant to replace me.

re: Successful Vaccine Religious Exemptions?

I used the fetal cell lines use in my letter. They ignored my first attempt. Then they told me to handwrite a letter explaining my religious beliefs. I did that...and they ignored it.
I called a lawyer and had them handle it. I had my exemption very quickly.

I had to handwrite a letter explaining my religious beliefs, and why they kept me from taking the vaccine. I wrote that it was because the use of aborted fetal cell lines....and invited them to my church.
They chose to ignore my request. I called a lawyer and they had my exemption letter very quickly. They took the lawsuit very seriously.

My company started requiring vaccination in April. I'm still working under a religious exemption, which I may lose my job anyway if this goes through.
I'm just waiting now to see what they do. For our upper management to be Republicans, they sure jumped on the vaccination bandwagon early. I'm not sure many factories around require it; even now.

Only 2 of us at work are unvaccinated. They made it mandatory in April.
2 Mondays ago, one of my guys was feeling like crap. He went and got tested that evening....Negative. We had hearing tests last Monday. He was in my 4 person group in a tiny closed in trailer to test. Tuesday...I get called in the office by safety to tell me I have been exposed. They didn't bother testing anyone else that he had been around, just the people in the hearing test with him.
We have had several people teST positive after being vaccinated. We have had a few people sick, but they say they have been vaccinated so it's not the Rona.

I have a friend that does some recruiting for companies. He has had people specifically ask him if there is a way to filter out white applicants. He told them.....that is discrimination.
re: If your fired because won’t get vaccine, don’t expect unemployment.

My work set it up to say you are "voluntarily quitting" by not taking the vaccine.
I haven't seen anyone that was fired to talk to them about it. We lost maybe 20/70 people.

I just had a guy at work tell me people like me are the reason we have variants.
There are only 2 of us not vaccinated. We just had a person test positive for Rona, so they are mad they have to wear masks again.

Part of the surge is vaccinated people being tested now. Before, to show how well vaccines worked, they weren't even testing vaccinated people. Partially due to vaccinated people thinking they couldn't get the Rona.
That's my opinion. I'm sure someone has some stat from some government agency showing 99.999% of positives are unvaccinated.

Yes, but they didn't like that as an excuse.
Another guy said he believed in natural healing and they told him he had to believe in some God.
He ended up getting the shot a month after his voluntary resignation. Then tried to come back and they wouldn't let him.

I actually submitted a religious exemption that was ignored. A lawyer got that fixed real quick....and charged me $0.
As far as I know, no one here got unemployment. I even spoke with my representatives about it. Since Tennessee is a right to work state, there isn't much that they could do.

I just went through a similar situation, except ours was a written mandatory vaccination policy. You either show vaccination proof, or you "voluntarily resign" by refusing to show it.
I work in a factory that has made the vaccine mandatory. We lost a lot of good people, and are struggling to get new hires.
I put in a religious exemption request at the beginning of April and they ignored it. I got a lawyer involved and had that fixed right away. I have to wear a mask all day though.
Only 1 other person and myself are not vaccinated. People are very mad about it. I even had someone tell me to my face,"The other people deserved to stay more than you."
We will see what happens when our annual evaluation and raises come around. We will see how many cents I get.
