Coming off a pharmaceutical drug and it’s miserable

Anyone had experience with this? Especially if it’s opioids. That has to be complete hell. So yea, withdrawals.

Are you, or have you ever been, an American Olympic gymnast?

You need to taper and wean off. Never cold turkey.

Immodium, Gatorade, ibuprofen, something to help sleep. Be patient, it gets better!

Yeah...isn't there another drug you can take that helps you ween off of opioids?

Hopefully your Dr knows & has advised you how to wean off
Good luck
Good luck

I was on Percocet 10 for 3 years before my SI fusion, quit cold turkey and had zero issues.
I made up for it with all of the anxiety meds they keep throwing at me. The brain zaps with weaning off of those is one of the worst things I have ever experienced. Its like a jolt of lightning inside your brain, makes you dizzy and sort of forget what you are doing for a split second. Its horrible, but it does eventually stop.

Ive quit SSRI's and opiates. The brain zaps from Paxil withdrawal were really weird but went away fast for me. Opiate withdrawal was one of the most intense things I ever been through psychologically and physically.

I have had 2 fusions on lower back with another herniation. I was taking 4 percs a day and finally had enough. I started going to 3 a day 5 months ago. Then after a month went to 2 a day. I will be off of them by the end of September. Never go cold turkey. You should be doing this with advice from your doctor. If your doctor advised cold turkey go see another.

Of course there is. The medical/pharmaceutical companies don’t miss an opportunity to cash in on this crisis they created. Suboxone. Then you get addicted to that and have to go through even worse withdrawals when getting off. And then it’s back to opies. Vicious cycle.

Also, I heard yesterday that crackheads sometimes use meth to wean themselves off crack. So, that's something to consider (j/k, obviously).
Opiates are tough to beat--I'm still waiting until I can check in somewhere for a while to get off them myself. Congrats to you on taking the leap. So, yeah, like Beeesnax says, plenty of liquid, meds for the inevitable stomach uproar, and NyQuil/Ambien/Xanax--something to induce rest.

Been there done that. I quit 5 years ago. Imodium and ibuprofen helps. Drink Gatorade and water. You in for a rough 5-6 days. Restless legs are the worst I know ur tossing and turning and probably have anxiety. Weed helps a little
Good luck bro

Here is an article about a guy I knew who struggled with addiction, relapsed and just recently overdosed. He left behind a wife and two-year old daughter who is probably just old enough to understand and be devastated when they tell her that her daddy is never coming home.
Get the help you need to get through the physical withdrawal. The alternative is much worse for you and the ones you love.

weaning yourself off is the best way no doubt.

Paroxitine supposedly helps during quitting smoking. I was looking for all kinds of things when I quit. Maybe it could help you? I’m not a doctor and I doubt a doctor will prescribe that though

If you don't take fish oil try adding it. Really helps with lubrication with your back after all that work. I know it sounds crazy but it works.

One week my man. One week and say goodbye.
In the meantime there is pretty much legal pot and Kratom to help you on your way.
