LSU has kept up for 20 years with everyone else
Not only have they gotten the best recruits, They have the highest paid coaches and best facilities and have rewritten the way to pay coaches not to coach
They have the disposable money to get whatever done they want
LSU benefits a lot from so much great in home talent close to home.
Some of those highest paid coaches really haven't produced roi in my opinion but that's another argument.
Saban invented the shadow staff, other schools invented or adapted to the spread offense - LSU I fear lacks the vision for adapting at whatever comes next we have a very complacent statewide attitude.
I wouldn't say we have the best facilities (maybe football yea for now) but baseball and basketball is a hard No.
If you're talking O in your coach assertion that was already mastered by Dabo who was a WR coach and then became a pseudo ceo. He benefited the most to having a DC who won't leave at all and is top 5 at his position. His offense also is a lot of former coaches he worked with that are very loyal and won't leave.
I personally don't see the CEO model working long term unless you have what Dabo has which is like super rare. Pittman, O, Cristobal it remains to be seen. Cristobal has so much money and an amazing NIL ready school behind him.
I do think LSU will pony up more than your ND, Michigan, Wisconsin, UCLA, etc because those schools are focused way too much on academics compared to sports where funds do. But your OSU, Clemson, UGA. Bama, Texas, A&M will easily outspend LSU in this NIL era and they have the businesses to support more athletes.
This NIL era is new it's not 20 yrs ago that's so short sighted thinking. It remains to be seen now if LSU can adapt and adjust.

So your argument is that nothing will change because of the NIL or the coming realignment. Your argument doesn’t factor in the NIL at all. You’re just saying that since your imaginary “Top 5” programs exist that the millions of dollars about to be spent will only go to these programs because they are Top 5. That’s an incredibly naive position to take.

I agree with most of what you’re saying but I don’t know that LSU can keep up long term. This is about control of the sport and the money behind this push will force the spotlight and success to larger markets that they have more influence over. LSU will be in the same boat as any other small market pro team eventually.

Put me down as skeptical in your scenario then. I will get downvoted but I don't trust LSU current leadership or O to adjust and adapt quickly enough. O might but it will most likely be to late (for him) I just don't see inavtaors in the LSU football tent (other than someone like Marucci)

Put a number on it. I want to see where your head is at
What do you think UGA players will make in year 2 on their NIL

The rest of your post is just rambling.
Coach O is the 2nd high lest paid coach in the nation
For most of Les miles career, LSU spent the most money to pay assistants
LSU has paid les miles, Matt Canada, Scott Linehan, and Bo Pelini NOT to coach.
Yes other schools have nice things. But ask yourself why LSU does. Cause they make a shite ton & the boosters make sure they the best of everything

I'm gonna need to see your list of LSU-based billion dollar companies that will gleefully shell out EVERY year to secure unproven 17 year olds?

This would be a great time for Chicken to open up a forum for NIL for anyone, not just LSU. The chicken feathers might fly then. lol

Exactly. LSU has money and Baton Rouge has money. We will be fine. Mama will greatly benefit the most but after that its a free for all

I don’t think you’re grasping the difference between directly giving personal money for something (a facility) and giving cash from their company funds to multiple players on a consistent basis that may never contribute anything to LSU.
Much less getting a commitment to do so when they’re still a recruit, which sounds like what it will take in this new era. Not to mention that someone (legally can’t be LSU) has to organize all of this.
Why would anyone want to bring any unwanted attention and risk with their company? A lot of people aren’t going to want to shite where they eat.

There isn’t a difference. They want LSU to win & will do anything necessary

Ncaa law says no one can legally offer anything in recruiting. It’s still going to happen (as it already has, forever).

That doesn’t even make sense. A guy like Richard lipsey got the AD fired & the president out because he didn’t like how they handled will Wade. Old baw Lipsey wasn’t even sure if Wade was going to get hammered by the ncaa or not these people have duck tales money & do not give a frick & if it wasn’t for compliance they’d be running roughshod.

I’m trying to understand your position. You think that LSU boosters are going to circumvent the system completely and pay or promise to pay recruits with personal funds?
Posted on 8/1/21 at 11:09 pm to The Pirate King
They already are doing that and have been for a while
They are going to do what it takes to adjust to this & keep up with the Jones’

LSU needs to get Pollyanna Chu on the phone. Shes worth 10 billion. She has to be our richest alumnus

I just don’t see many companies in Louisiana dropping 5 to 6 figures consistently with little to no return, but you’re entitled to your opinion.

The logic you’re using here doesn’t apply. It’s just a deflection, there’s no reason to it. You’re using complete unknowns as a backstop while ignoring the “limitless” amounts of money NIL allows for and trying to throw me guessing some year 2 UGA spending number in there to try and tie it all together. The more your position is scrutinized the more Lester flavored narrowness surfaces.

“There isn’t a limit” is not a good answer.
You just don’t understand the scope of it, and that’s ok to say.

The return is LSU stays competitive & they combine to receive the perks of being bag men
