like how they waited until they had a good season to bring it up
To be fair, coincidence, with this being the natural year with lease expirations coming up and the new owners just recently purchasing the team.

They don’t. That’s the leverage. They can court a handful of other cities willing to foot the bill.
The pegulas are unlikely to leave.
They are all in with Buffalo. Bought both teams and working to create a full entertainment district prior to this ask.

Same owners. Terry and Kim Pegula.
In addition to the bills and Sabres they have bought every minor league team that’s been available in Buffalo/Rochester.
They are all in for sports in the region and leaving Buffalo isn’t the plan. They spent billions in the region, and will almost certainly pony up a portion of this too.

Seems like they are threatening to move to Austin or at the very least using it as a negotiating tactic. A city full of Longhorns, Cowboys fans and transplants wouldn't give a shiney shite about this team.

Maybe they’re negotiating. But in any negotiation, the negotiators need to be willing to act in order to have any credibility.
As to the negotiation between the Bills and Buffalo that has begun with the Bills wanting taxpayer funding to pay the full price of a new stadium, an impasse could lead the Bills threatening to move — and potentially moving — elsewhere.
Citing an unnamed ownership source, Seth Wickersham of ESPN.com reports that Austin is a possible destination — or threat — as one of the cities to which Bills ownership was referring when telling government negotiators that “there are other cities elsewhere that desire an NFL franchise and would pay handsomely for it.”
San Antonio was one of the leverage destinations for the Raiders before they moved to Las Vegas, and the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans weren’t believed to be thrilled about the possibility of a third team coming to Texas. Presumably, they wouldn’t want a team in Austin, either.
Regardless, it’s not about moving at this point. It’s about making the politicians in New York think a move could happen. Until they do, they won’t open up the public coffers.

They want to move, this will just make it easier to do so.

Having driven by their stadium, they need a new stadium. Ralph Wilson Stadium looked terrible. Most teams getting new stadiums probably don’t need them.

Jordan Poyer is a member at the country club that employees me.
Saw him a a couple weeks ago, I’ll ask his opinion.
As an added bonus y’all should check out his wife. You’re welcome.

Then why buy the sabres, Americans, bandits, knight hawks, base pegula sports entertainment in Buffalo, and invest heavily in Buffalo real estate plays to support it all?
They aren’t leaving. They just hired a company to negotiate with the state and this is the obvious scare tactic that any third party would use. We need everything, or else…. But would settle for just a lot

I believe when the Packers first started renovations back in the mid-90s for Lambeau it only received 53% in favor of the tax hike.
It should be noted the Packers do not own Lambeau.
The city of Green Bay owns it.

Austin? Is there any room left in Austin for a NFL stadium?

If they didn’t do it for the Chargers why would SD agree to do it for the Bills?

I think those days are coming to a close. I'm not sure there's as many cities willing to prostrate themselves for a greedy owner to move there as in years past. There's still some who will get hoodwinked, but not as many as before.

Saints do not own the dome, the state does. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that how all large stadiums are set up?
