Update with arrest and articles -- Shawn Rivas missing person in BR area

Hey all...it's been awhile but wanted to post an update. I never did follow up to say his body was found about a month later in the exact same spot myself, friends, family and law enforcement had already looked. Yes, something smelled of the whole process and being a former cop myself I'd seen it all many times before. Anyway, if you want the full story which made Advocate front page today see below.

Hey OTer's. Need some help from anyone out there that's potentially seen Shawn Rivas (29 years old W/M and around 5'10"). Missing since last Thursday around 11:30am in the Baton Rouge area. Possibly seen this morning around Acadian near the interstate looking disoriented. Unsure of exactly what he was wearing the morning he disappeared. Typically wears khaki shorts and possible ball cap but could have been blue jeans that morning. Missing persons report on file with BRPD and hopefully will be on local news soon. I know it's not a lot to go on but any legitimate help appreciated. WAFB Link

My theory continues....I NEVER want a news story about me that includes my middle name.

I just had a notification pop up a few minutes ago about a body found in the Mississippi being identified as a BR man. Now I can’t find the article. Hope it isn’t your friend.

All, I can appreciate the investigative ability of a lot of people on here but the fact that he has priors doesn't really help that he's missing and loved by family and friends. Just trying to help in any way I can as I'm close to him myself. I'm sure no harm is meant but just putting that out there. Sometimes it's a risk sharing things on OT but I've also seen it help situations very quickly. Thanks again.

I only said was because I can no longer talk to him on a daily basis anymore and hope for the best but also realistically understand it's been a week today that he's been missing.
