Trying to kick the habit. I’m calm but I feel like inside I’m full of rage, cravings, any words or encouragement or advice of what I can do to control the urges or do I just need to weather the storm?
The nicotine is out of your system after 3 days. That was a big mental thing for me when quitting dip.
I've been quit a long time. For the first 100 days or so it will be rough and just thinking and talking to you now makes my mouth water--after over 6 years.
Also, stop calling it a habit. Biting your fingernails is a bad habit. Nicotine is a full blown addiction. Once you admit that to yourself it makes it a little easier to quit.

Good for you! Keep up the good work.

I quit off and on regularly. But usually what gets me threw the cravings is a combination of yard work, hydration, and if I'm getting a "tick I'll grab a toothpick or a straw. Part of your addiction is habituary if that is a word. The action of puffing. It becomes instinctual and part of that is tied to your addiction. If you break the chemical addiction the next step is to break the habitual motion. Becomes easier. My downfall is always when I'm struggling with anxiety and decide to throw down on some beers as I am doing now.

Good on ya. Keep going.
I am a trashy dipper that needs to quit. Best of luck.

i am at day 26. you can do it. i got the “quitter’s flu”. i have had it for two weeks now. my doctor basically says i have to deal with it. of course, with me coughing and sniffling everyone things i have the rona. this is the hardest thing that i have ever done.

Good luck to you. There is a lot of good advice in this thread but, in the end, it really comes down to how much you want to quit. I must have tried thirty times before it stuck. The only difference is that the last time that finally worked I just knew I was done. Hope you make it. For the longest time I could not imagine life without cigs. I don’t even miss them now.

Hang in there. I used sunflower seeds to kick the dipping habit. Over 3 years since I have had a dip and still get a random craving here and there. You can do it, just hang in there.

Day 3? The worst is over.
Cravings are things you allow to control you. You're almost there.

Just do it man. It’s worth it. It’s really bad for your heart. You got this.

I quit dipping last year. For the first month, I wanted to rip my gums out. I knew it was the right decision though and just stuck with it.

9 years, 11 months, 26 days for me. From 2 packs of Camel Wides a day to nothing.... Totally comfortable with people smoking around me but still if you sit across me and place a pack of Camel Wides in front of me, my mouth waters.... It's a strong addiction but it's mind over matter.
