I took the MCAT 4 times in attempts to get into a Louisiana MD program and got a score after the 4th time that correlates to a 75th percentile rank (509 or top quarter) , yet the med school ad coms didn’t seem to care enough to still let me in after all of that trouble and 3 attempts. But when I got my score back that was as proud as I’ve ever been of myself because I spent months during quarantine trying to improve it.

Also had a 3.95 gpa in biological sciences from LSU and graduated summa cum laude.

I took the LSAT right before graduation because I didn't know what the hell I was going to do when I got out of school. I had been out drinking the night before at Ivar's and was hung over as hell. My prep had involved reading a book called LSAT for Dummies or something like that.

I just went in there and took a swing at it. I figured I would do OK since I have always done well on Standardized Tests. Much better on the tests than my corresponding academic work.

I got the results several weeks later via mail (this was before email and wide spread internet use). I thought it said 69 percentile. Then I read it again and realized it said 96th Percentile. I killed it.

Shortly thereafter I was receiving invites to visit places like Harvard and Yale, Rice, etc. Some pretty prestigious places. I filled out a couple of applications and apparently they were highly unimpressed with my 2.78 GPA in Poli Sci at LSU. I ended up going to LSU and the counselor straight told me that my obnoxious LSAT score was the only reason I got in there at all.

TLDR- I can test with the best but I am not that bright when it comes to the books.
