That's funny because inflation is rampant and we can buy less with our money than we could even a year ago. Explain to me how that means that the value of the dollar is up. I think you need to take your "you idiots are fricking stupid and ignorant" comment and apply it to that person in the mirror.

It definitely feels like this forum is living in its own bubble.
The economy is doing fine, the stock market is in good health, M&A activity is booming (banking firms are hiring like crazy because of increased deal flow), and Biden's widely seen as doing a good job on vaccination.

From 2016 to end of 2020 inflation was a total of 7.8%
From 2020 until now inflation so far is 5.0%
In other words
In 2016 a $1 widget z cost $1, in 2020 it cost $1.08
In 2020 1$ could buy widget x, in 2021 it already costs $1.05
