Never said stop, I said reduce. Just like with the flu every year. IMO, the more people vaccinated, the lower number of cases we will see each year. That's fine if you don't believe that.

In this very thread, we are talking about states with 60-90% of adults fully vaccinated experiencing case spikes worse than last summer.

I’m admitting young healthy people to the hospital with very serious COVID infections,” wrote Cobia, a hospitalist at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, in an emotional Facebook post Sunday. “One of the last things they do before they’re intubated is beg me for the vaccine. I hold their hand and tell them that I’m sorry, but it’s too late.”

You are setting up a strawman.

Getting the rona will slow the spread as well, and maybe more so.

In the meantime, you gave an unproven drug into the mass market... which serves the majority of the population no purpose.

The flu impacts basically everyone that gets it, but I wouldn't get that shot either. Covid only impacts a select part of the population, the majority of people have no idea they have it.

Even if we pretend the vaccine is effective, and even if it we pretend its not killing people... it makes little sense to give EVERYONE the fricking vaccine.

60-90%? Link? The below map was updated less than an hour ago. (Though that map is ages 12 and up but the stats I've seen have shown the 60s are the max of any state)

I'm not going to site here are try and convince anyone not to get the vaccine. I personally drove my mother to get it months ago. I am responsible enough to look at data and weigh my personal risk against the knowns and unknowns of these highly unvetted vaccines. I want the freedom to make my own choice and wait if I feel its right for me. If these vaccines are worth a shite, it shouldnt matter that I am unvaccinated.

What I have an issue with is the growing cries from blue governments for compulsory vaccination or passports. I have a problem with the constant politicization of everything, the shocking amount of lies coming from the scientific community, and the alarming censorship happening in the media. We shouldnt have to second guess these people. I'm also getting sick and tired of vaxed leftists confronting me on my vaccine status and trying to shame me or convince me to get the jab. I will slap a motherfricker before this is over.

That map is residents. 60-90% is fully vaccinated adults. Children are not eligible for vaccination.

Example:
Massachusettes fully vaxed: 4.36MM
Massachusettes adult population: 4.85MM

This doesnt include unvaxed with antibodies.

100% agree

If someone wants to get it, heck, I don't care.

The data never made sense for most of what has gone on in the last year+, telling everyone to get the vaccine is to me immoral and unethical, and are people with agendas.

I could see particular people some combination of elderly, obese, or multiple medical conditions possibly weighing the decision, other than that... not sure what the point would be.

The data they'll try and hide is the hospitalization rate of reinfections of the non-vaccinated, in comparison to vaccinated.

Even though kids under 12 can’t be vaccinated, you don’t get to exclude them when talking about percent of the total population that is vaccinated.

Generally when talking about herd immunity, 70 to 80 percent of the TOTAL population needs to be vaccinated.

Im using Bidens metric of vaccinated adults, because that was the metric we were supposed to meet in order to be out of this jam by July 4 remember?

You really want to quibble about that? does Mass having 65% 12+ vaxed explain why their cases are double what they were this time last summer?

I believe reinfection rates are a major issue to any type of herd immunity theory.

But in fairness, Rex you have also have a very serious heart condition. Your viewpoint (rightfully) is skewed by that. A much younger, ridiculously healthy, super-fit guy like myself ( ) and most of this board would not be nearly as vaccine-urgent.

This is what pisses me off, cut out the lies and spin and just give me the straight facts, I can make my own decision if I have accurate info.

Se the above response. And herd immunity in and of itself is a natural phenomenon that has nothing to do with vaccinations. They may only help to speed natural immunity among a population if they actually work.

For example, lets assume what you said is true, We need 70% of the population vaxed to achieve immunity. First off, 15% of the total population is under the age of 12, but we would still need immunity in 230MM americans. That's 83% of vaccine eligible citizens needing vaccines in order to achieve your "herd immunity". The best estimates suggest efficacy is only 90% so even if ALL vaccine eligible citizens get the vaccine, that leaves only 207MM immune citizens or just 63% or the total population. You can't even get there.
