If I was keeping up with him I would return him or at least let people know where he is.

Who is saying the mom left them alone?

Search and rescue crews are on the water in Jean Lafitte National Park Friday morning after a young boy went missing Thursday evening, authorities say. According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, a 4-year-old boy with autism went missing Thursday, July 15, around 5:30 p.m. The boy was last seen with a parent. A family member says Ellis Boudean was walking with his mom and his 3-year-old brother when they stopped to fly a kite. The boy’s mother was fixing the kite when he went into the water. The boy’s mom reportedly went into the water after him but was unsuccessful in recovering him and immediately called 911.

One of his shoes was found floating in the water.
“They came here because they wanted to stop. I love the trails. They loved running on the trails so she pulled over. She just wanted them to have fun before they went home. She was getting the kite ready and not even 45 seconds,” Ellis’ sister Bryanna Aguilard says.

“We currently have no evidence that the child is on land, and search efforts are now focused on the area waterways. The land in the area the child was last seen has been thoroughly searched by multiple parties.

Her account is that she walked away with them to get something out of her car, she heard a noise and turned around and he was gone.. That with the kite story is one of many

Not really an ideal spot to fly a kite. Something is fishy.

I don’t think he was ever there, it’s heavily wooded ain’t no kite flying going on there..

It’s weird they don’t report the moms account of her leaving them alone
I wonder if she was wet when help arrived, did she say she went in after him too?
I don’t know the area, does the kite story make sense? I would think there would be too many trees to fly a kite.
Horrible story regardless of what happened

Oh my
Stuff like this doesn’t cross my mind
Is the 3 year old still in her custody?

Yes
I think the grandparents have custody of the two younger kids, she is currently or was just released from a halfway house….

If he went missing where I think he did, it's a walking path on a thin strip of land that runs between two side-by-side canals. Not many places he could go besides water.
Edit: from a cop buddy, "Lafitte word of mouth says kids were collected by child services not long ago"

Hmmm... I teach autistic children and some do have an extreme attraction to water.
We had a 6 year old autistic child in our area who slipped out of his apartment a few years back while his mom was in the restroom and they found his body in the retention pond next to the complex later that evening.
He used to like to go there with his mom and feed the ducks. Mom said he was obsessed with going to the pond everyday.
