That episode is up there in the top 5 of Marvel content created. Loki is easily the G.O.A.T D+ series. Makes sense that the What If series is next

SPOILERS

I found the finale a bit of a letdown. I would have like to have seen Kang looking like the comic version. I didn't find him particularly intimidating as a dude in cape. His delivery was somewhat silly.

Unless there is a season 2 the ending was a let down. It left too many questions unanswered and I just don't see the Movies doing justice to the support cast because the stars of these movies will get all of the screen time.

Maybe after I watch it a few more times I'll change my view. Flame away

That wasn't the big bad Kang that we are going to know. That was like a variant of him. The actual Kang is much more menacing.

After watching this episode, a lot of the future MCU movies are starting to make sense. In the Shang-Chi trailer, I’m willing to bet Abomination is a variant and that’s why Wong is fighting him in the trailer. I think we start to see the ramifications of Sylvie fricking up in Shang-Chi a bit, then in Spider-Man, and really get wild in Quantamania and Multiverse of Madness.

Dr Strange just woke up in his universe to some strange shite happening.

It's hard to believe this show was made by the same studio that produced WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Solider.

Those shows were perfectly mediocre, but Loki is on another level. This actually felt like MCU material from Phase 3 in terms of quality.

You should definitely watch a few times because the plot is apparently way over your head.

That was He Who Remains which as he explained is a variant Kang. He's probably thousands of years old and this is way beyond his conquering stage. You'll get your wish in Ant Man and The Wasp Quantamania. Because of the branched timelines, Variant Kangs are pretty inevitable (Thanos line not intended) as they will lead the universe into a 2nd Multiversal War.

The TVA was essentially a creation of He Who Remains to keep other Kangs out and you must say it probably worked out for him because he did keep other Kangs out until now.

The Big Bad Kang is probably already in that hidden quantum verse city that shows up in Ant Man 2 (see top right in pic below). Now that Kang is "present day" Conquering and is much more like you described. The more I think of it, that quantumverse city may very well be the present TVA that Loki got sent back to at the end. Kinda makes sense with the statue of Kang at the end, the lack of sun or lighting, and just how vast the TVA appears to be. Kang is probably in there collecting artifacts from his conquering journey. TVA exists outside of time and the Quantum world also exists outside of time.

By the time Loki goes back to the TVA, a Big Bad Kang has taken it over already. The statue is Kang in his comic outfit.

Only a matter of time until we get XMen and Fantastic 4 characters now.

Since there’s multiple versions of the character, I thought it was a great way to tease the next big bad similar to the Thanos tease after Avengers 1. They’ll save Kang the Conquerer in his full glory for the movies.

Honestly surprised they actually had Kang being the one behind everything and not just another Loki. Props to Marvel to not giving us another Bohner fake out. This variant of Kang seemed pretty tame although I'm sure the one popping up in Ant-Man 3 won't be so chill. So I guess Sylvie is in charge of the time line now or just fricked off after killing Kang to let the all of those timelines continue to branch off. Guessing we'll start to see those repercussions in No Way Home with Tobey and Andrew coming in. Wonder if this is how we also get introduced to the F4

Yep totally agree. I was at first disappointed when they first showed him and he wasn't in Kang the Conqueror mode but the way it ended it saves the best version of him for the big screen. Him telling Sylvie "see you soon" and the statue at the end really gave off that ominous feeling of what we will see going forward. I thought Marvel played this just right.

Bravo Marvel, you actually dropped a big bad in a D+ series. This is awesome.

Evil version of Kang gonna be one bad motherfricker, Loki’s terror at the very end was great. He genuinely fears what has been unleashed.

Holy shite, what an incredible episode. I can't wait to see what phase 4 has in store.

Loki's terror reminds me of when Bruce first tells Dr. Strange about Thanos.

I need more please.

As someone who doesn't know anything about the comics this was extremely helpful.

I've enjoyed this series. But Kang sucks as a Big Bad Villain.

Is that because of your lack of familiarity with the character? Kang is h A-list Marvel Villain, especially with anything that involves time travel and alternate time lines. He is the obvious choice.

quote:

After Thanos, he seems like a major step-down

Only Galactus wouldn't be!

quote:

Dr. Doom would've been a much better choice

In a plot line involving time travel and alternate time lines? Please explain. Definitely not Doom's MO!

They've changed a few things around from the comics of course. In the comics He Who Remains isn't Kang but a different entity all together.

The way they've introduced Kang into the MCU as an "old" wise Kang "He Who Remains" who is a necessary evil (creating the TVA, pruning timelines, etc...) to keep even worse and more horrific Kangs is way different than the "He Who Remains" from the comics but tbh I prefer the MCU version better so far. It just makes so much sense.

I thought that mutants would be introduced during the Eternals movie but just thinking about it, Loki got sent back to what appeared to be a slightly different TVA in a different timeline (see Mobius not knowing who tf Loki is as well as the Kang statue at the end). I wonder if Mutants exist on this new revised timeline but who knows.

I cannot bear the wait to The Eternals in November and Spiderman in December and Dr. Strange in March. shite is nuts. They have literally opened the door for all sorts of crazy shite. Like crazy crazy shite. They can bring in any character imaginable into it now.

Spiderman No Way Home is gonna be fricking wild. After watching Loki Episode 6, I think the "No Way Home" thing means Tom Holland Spiderman (G.O.A.T Spiderman IMO) is gonna find himself in the universe of Tobi and Andrew Garfield's spidermans and not the other way round. Makes sense to me with the branched timelines. All I want is this meme in live action:
