I too want to try Thai food. Just tried tonight and the only place on the Westbank closed.
I'll have to wait for a night off.

rama used to be very, very good....haven't been in years.
Tried Equator Thai food in Fat City last night:
Lava Beef - very good flavor, average texture, very small portion for the price.
Pad Thai - good flavor, good texture, again very small portion for the price.
Duck Salad - terrible. Mushy, watery duck, no presence of fresh herbs, one constant mushy texture. This is usually my favorite thai dish as i sometimes order 2 for a meal. It was the worst i have ever had.
Value = very poor. $40 for 2 small sized entrees and a salad. No drinks, it was a to go order.

Ramas .... right opposite to Zee Zees on Perkins underpass.
Open only for dinner, service not that great .... only two old asian women waitress, but the quality of the food definitely makes it worthwhile.
I usually have the lemon grass soup and some noddle dish.

they used to have an appetizer called Rama spicy that was very good. It was seasoned beef with tons of peppers, and a naan/tortilla type bread would eat it with. Was good for a little sweat.
They also used to have a smoking hot little waitress back in the day.

El Tigre - Back in the day I lived just down from Rama and we would go there all the time. They had two of the most hot, smokin waitresses ever. It's been about 6-8 months since I've been there. Can't remember the wait staff too well...too many singha's.

I just can't get past the fish gut sauce. This stuff is used to cook pretty much every Thai dish there is kinda like soy sauce with chineses food. Nasty.

Actually on Sherwood a half block south of Coursey, behind Applebee's. It is very good with excellent service.

Thai Green Leaf in Hammond. I don't have experience in Thai food, but I like it, for what it's worth.

I like my Thai dishes very spicy, it's my paht thai and I'll cry if I want to.
