It's not at all uncommon for California liberals to love New Orleans. I know two couples from California (Bay Area and Sacramento) that are considering a move to New Orleans. One of the couples has actually started house hunting.

About 10 years ago a lady from California moved into the small town my dad lives in South Dakota. She got upset when they my dad was hunting doves legally about 1/2 mile behind her house and she went and put up no gun signs in her yard and windows.

I work in New Orleans and 3 of the 10 people in my group have moved here from San Jose in the last 4 years. They are good ole baws, so no issues, but they are amazed at the fact they can buy a decent house in the area for under $250,000.00

Yat27....they must not be too smart. Moving from one infestation to another. Moving from one sh!thole to another sounds pretty stupid. NOLA is a great place to visit if you stay in the right part of town. But living there? Noway.
