Smith playing some pretty damn good SS as freshman.
Played 3rd base

Had almost the exact fielding% as Thompson

Had a worse fielding% than Thompson

Nola
Didn’t take over until halfway through the season but had a decent fielding% of .960
Thompson is in line with the rest of the LSU defensive greats as a freshman.

So we're going to have 9 position players next year and the rest will be pitchers. Got it.
Nah but probably more new players than old ones. The newer ones will be more willing to battle for a spot. Then go through the same thing next year as Arnold’s going through if it doesn’t work out

This is neither here nor there, but I just figured out that incoming OF Josh Stevenson is 3 months older than Tre Morgan and Brody Drost.

I wonder what year he was held back

Now do Thompson’s batting ave compared to those others.

You think a SS's value is in his bat? You don't think he will improve on power and vs SEC pitching?
You is dumb.

Probably looks pretty good compared to Nola's

Sometimes a change of venue can really help a player. You can flush all the bad stuff.

He had 8 HRs as a freshman. Kd too much but that was honestly his only real problem. If Jay can help him with pitch recognition, he's going to be really good. He's got great hands.

1) we weren’t discussing his offensive production. This was purely a discussion about his defense.
2) he hit .250 with 8hr and an OPS of .716. Not great but also not that concerning in his freshman season and an incoming head coach known to be a hitting guru.

Pretty similar actually
Nola: .240 4hr .714 OPS
Thompson .250 8hr .716 OPS

Johnson was just on moscona; said zach arnold wanted to explore his options and said he was not giving up hope that he may return
Posted on 6/30/21 at 5:49 pm to josh336
Really surprised he’d be in before the 3 ‘ford guys
Posted on 6/30/21 at 6:05 pm to josh336
You think that’s real talk or coach talk?
Posted on 6/30/21 at 6:06 pm to Naptime

Sounds like you dont think he is coming back
