He ate fried alligator with CPM.

Of course CPM would point him in the direction of the fried gator and not the blackened.

Sorry to hear that...I liked the kid! Considered him an asset to the team. Oh, well...wish him all the luck wherever he lands.

Knew it was happening when JJ came out to the interview in a Tiger jersey with #2. Thought then, someone is either leaving or changing numbers and its not going to be JJ.

Arnold was an average hitter with decent pop for his size.in the field he’s at the lower end of average
His frame is one that could take some weight and muscle pretty easily
He definitely could have broke out next year though. Isn’t this his second year? He’s the type that would explode sometime over the next two years. He will put on some size and hit 15-18 hrs while batting 310.

How do you know which guys are going to do this? And if he magically gets so much better at hitting will he be able to field ground balls and throw to first?

In SEC action he hit 200 in 45 ABs. He did have some pop and he is a good size.
But he has no glove and that really makes it tough to play him except as a DH.

Right! He’s really a zero tool guy.

Bregman’s fielding% his freshman year was .939

Thompson’s was .938

I did not expect them to be so close. Bregman was still a much better defensive SS his freshman season than Jordan was. Bregman got to some crazy balls and made highlight reel outs that don’t change the fielding percentage as much as an error does but is just as important.

Outside of Crews, Morgan, Doughty and Dugas (if he decides to return) Thompson is probably the most comfortable of the remaining five starters. You could make an argument for Bianco but he’s going to have the same problem he’s always had in that he doesn’t really have a position.

I think those six are automatic roster spots. All are there for their bats, so they need to hit, but Bianco is looking like a breakout player. If he can just hit about 290 with that power it will be awesome.
