This is 100% a scare tactic and an orchestrated move to create shock and awe. Knowing that Ed Orgeron is the head coach of the state university’s football team; fresh off a national championship; and knowing the media would have/did pick this up and run wild. Knowing thAt the negative PR this would
Cause and how most people hear RICO and automatically associate it with a serious violation or allegation. The lawyers here aren’t trying to win in court. They know they will win/have already pretty much won; in the court of public opinion. And lsu will most probably settle to try and keep this hush hush.
If I was lsu I’d fight this in a heartbeat; knowing how hard and intricate it is to prove a rico case.
