Diversion Pizza thread got me thinking

I like Mo’s in Westwego

Second would be Deano's in Lafayette

Unless you’ve actually been to all of the top places in the state, how can you say which is best? Fortunately my travels have taken me all over Louisiana and I’ve had nearly all of the places that have been mentioned. The one that I really want to try that I haven’t is NOLA Pizza Co. I plan on doing that soon, and then I think I can give an accurate assessment.

Depends on the style, IMO you can’t really compare Neapolitan style pizza with Americanized pizza.

That being said my favorite pizzas in Louisiana are:

Pizza Delicious-New York style
Bread & Circus-Neapolitan style

Very hit and miss. Sometimes it’s incredible and a swear that they use alternative cheese sometimes.

I'm going to New Orleans (maybe tomorrow) to do another blind taste test. I'm going to get Pizza Delicious, Paulie Gee's, and Mid City Pizza.

Omar isn't at Roma anymore, but it's still the same product. My only complaint is that they put very little sauce, even when I ask for extra sauce. I like the cheese they use that makes it a little greasy, which I personally like.

Mo’s is fricking terrible. Their red sauce is a sweet mess.

NOLA and Pizza Delicious are great. I haven’t had MCP. Those are the best in NOLA area. Can’t say what’s the best in the state.

And even then it is still subjective. It's amazing how many people love them some Dominoes, Pizza Hut, and PaPa Johns and not enjoy let's say a Grimaldi's or Diversion.

Was once good, but now is not. I mean the place on their website has a list of rules for making a Neapolitan style pizza and they do not even follow it. Pretty sure they also have a sign in the restaurant that lists the pizza rules as well.

I am in Metairie and highly recommend Stella Pizzeria. My personal go to order is their Chicken Spinach Alfredo pizza. While you're at it, stop at Reginelli's (literally next door) and specifically get their margherita pizza, made with Buratta cheese. Delectable!

If we are only looking for opinions then this criteria is far overreaching.

There’s no such things as “best pizza” - it’s more like “favorite pizza” once you hit a certain level.

Obviously once you start differentiation of style then it’s another conversation.

I prefer a thick crust, moderate sauce and cheese and plenty of big meaty toppings.

A few places deliver that. I can acknowledge that other pizzas are good, but they are not my favorite. Once you get past a good pizza there really isn't a best IMO. Same with BBQ, Red Gravy, Burger, etc. etc.
