I think that's why many ITT are pissed. Wanted a light sentence just to see riots.

Honestly at worst Chauvin should have served 10 years for 2nd degree manslaughter since I think that is very possible and that it was a combination of the fentanyl and carbon monoxide that did him in, but I think the defense established reasonable doubt. The murder convictions though are fricking insane.

Unless he gets released on appeal, he will serve 15.
He’s already 1 year in. 14 to go.

St. George was obviously a piece of trash, but Chauvin did himself no favors.
That's the bottom line right there. Even a trash thug is entitled to the minimum treatment afforded to all humans. You can't just kill them under any circumstance. There are circumstances where you can kill them and be justified, but this just wasn't that situation. At least that's how the jury found it.

He got credit for 199 days served.

22.5 is less than I thought he’d get. In that sense he’s gotta be somewhat relieved he won’t die in prison of old age.
I am sure he is ecstatic.

Oh that’s right. He was out on bail.

So Chauvin is going to give up 15+ years of his life for this one act.
I’m sure knowing the outcome of this case, if he could go back, he would get his knee off the criminal and just let him die cuffed in the backseat of a cruiser.
I would never be a police officer today.

Should’ve done this on a Monday.
Friend tells me black Twitter is getting pretty riled up. Tempers are starting to flare.

Don’t liberals want less prison population/incarceration and lighter sentencing for violent felons?

For murderers? No.

He should thank his lucky stars that’s all he got, most murderers get much more.

Because they're thinking Biden/Harris will be out in 3.5 and Desantis' new DOJ will take this up in their 1st month
There is already plenty to appeal out in the public domain. Chauvin alluded to other things that aren't. If they didn't have a strong appeal he would've said a lot more than he did.

Or in some cases like a few judges in NY and Cali, you get released early
