I'm somewhere in the middle. He went overboard and deserves punishment, but he absolutely does not deserve what's going to be given him. This is a manslaughter case, not a murder (of any degree) case. He's going to get strung up to placate the masses and that's it.
There's a huge difference between 2 or 3 years in jail for manslaughter, which in my opinion he deserves, and what is about to happen to him.

Intent is not required for 2nd degree murder in Minnesota. Homicide statutes vary considerably across the states.
