Kendall what do you think about Tulo's chances to join the staff?

If it's those two in addition to Johnson as HC, that would be such a significant upgrade

It seems for Johnson the pitching coach hire is critical.

I agree. You can afford some room for error with hitting and recruiting coordinators but he has to nail a good pitching coach. Childress would be amazing.

Also In his two years at SLU Caillet had top 25 recruiting classes.

Saban hires former head coaches of big time programs and he’s a genius. We talk about doing it and we melt.

I’m not real concerned about a hitting coach.

Like Nick Saban and defense, Johnson has hitting covered.

I like JJ’s hands-on style. He’s his own third base coach.

Ain’t that the truth?

We’ve had other, bigger hires in the 16 years I’ve been posting here, but this baseball hire has brought more idiots out of the woodwork than any other hire during that time.

Pretty sure he scrapped that and went back to the dugout earlier this season.

Childress might not have been GOAT HC material but there's no denying his success with pitchers. He has experience in the conference. Gene Chizik went to hell in a hand basket at Auburn outside of Cam. He still had a solid defense at UNC.

We could do much much worse as far as assistants are concerned.

Kendall, what do you think the realistic chances are to get Tulo from Texas are? Think it's merely just extending the offer of a full-time gig, or is it going to need to be a sweeter pot??

TAMU has been less than impressive (especially hitting) for the last two full seasons. This was Chad Calliet’s first season as a power 5 hitting coach because of Covid. Hmmmm. Could maybe do better??? Childress seams to know where all the good left handed pitchers hide out. We could use a few.

Childress is an outstanding pitching coach. One of the best in the game.

If we hire him, can we say we stole him from aggy just like they stole Cain from us ?

Seems to be the same kinda deal
