Fans are really overestimating how attractive the LSU baseball job is

Facilities
LSU has top notch practice facilities/offices, but Alex Box Stadium is nothing special. So overall facilities wise its on par with the rest of the SEC. No coach is coming here just based on facilities.
Pressure
Fan expectations are outrageous at LSU. They’ll treat you like a king for a while, but you better win multiple national championships or they’ll want you fired. Its just like Kentucky basketball. Both have only won 1 national championship in the past 20 years, but fans get pissed off if you don’t win one every year. No other college baseball team is like that.
I could see a guy from a non-SEC school jumping at the chance to come to LSU, but to get a good SEC head coach Woody is going to have to outbid the other school by at least $1 million/year. The BS you have to put up with day in day out would not be worth anything less than that.

Yep, and that is what they said on ESPN last night too.

Oh so a fanbase that actually cares about baseball unlike the majority of schools. What coach would ever want to be at a school that actually cares about baseball

As in basketball, the actual stadium amenities and "niceness" are irrelevant to coaches and players. They aren't sitting in the suites or enjoying the food.
The practice fields, locker rooms, etc., are much more of a factor.
No recruit is going to tour Alex Box, and then choose another school because the luxury box situation may not be up to par.

You do know that the new coach will never watch a game from the stands of Alex Box right? They don’t give two shites about fan accommodations. The facilities for the players and the coaches are among the best in the nation.

Are you saying nobody wants the UK basketball job?

I don't think recruits are worried about the stadium, as long as it isn't a dump. The facilities are up to date with everything kids are looking for, and the fan support is second to none.
We just need the right guy to lead this program. Other schools aren't outperforming LSU for any reason other than coaching, in my opinion. The job is most definitely as attractive as it ever was. But if guys are too scared of the pressure to come here, we'll have to settle for a "good" but not elite coach. I'm hoping we don't have to settle.

I would say the pressure is going to scare some coaches away but I would also say I don’t want that coach anyway. You want a coach that is going to look at that pressure and embrace it like CPM did.

Got to earn that salary and title. These guys are competitors you don't think they know the pressure? That's why they are here... they live for this SHITE. And I guarantee you LSU fans aren't the only ones who expect results that's why there's a coaching carousel every year. If they don't want the "pressure" of coaching at LSU they aren't our guy, never were.

Texas in just about any sport is just on another level on what they can offer...not that they always do but what they can but besides them, I can't say there is a better job out there. The culture has to fit the family and honestly, BR and South Louisiana isn't for everyone but its easily a top 5 job.

While I think the OP is off I do think there is a bit of an overestimation. LSU used to be the only job any coach would drop everything for. Some seem to think this is still the case when it simply isn't. It's a great job with a great tradition, but no one with a brain stem could argue its a no brainer for any coach once offered the job.
