That sounds made up.

Yeah... that doesn’t explain why it’s good for the economy. It gives a BS theory about why this could supposedly be good for workers but nothing laying out why this is great for the economy overall. Because it’s fricking not.

I don't actually see in this article where they explain how this is all "good for the economy"

Is it possible the headline is propaganda?

Maybe the Boomers will finally exit the workforce like they should have a decade ago

I hope they do. Then the millenials won't have their "Ok boomer" scapegoat anymore to explain their utter failure at life.

Scruffy vaguely remembers an article during Trump’s tenure (although he can’t find it) where it was argued that lower gas prices were bad because it increased car wrecks and injuries.

I'm a Trump supporter but I think there's a kernel of truth to that. If you really can't afford $3.50 per gallon or whatever, you're probably not someone I want driving around recreationally anyway. I don't want to share the beach or the movie theater with people like that.

No where in there does it mention the economy as a whole, just some rhetoric that employees are “in a sweet spot”

The economy is nothing more than the continual flow of money for goods and services. The higher the flow, the stronger the economy. That’s not really a topic for debate….velocity of money has long been a benchmark of economic health.

They are claiming higher wages and benefits allow for more consumer spending and thus a more robust economy.

Again, I don’t agree with their premise, but they DID explain why. I guess they just didn’t want to go on an economics 101 lecture tangent.

Not necessarily true. I’m trying to hire two employees for ~95-105k starting salary (depending on market) and our applicants have been garbage. These are roles that someone in my field (internal audit) with 2-3 years of experience could easily be qualified.

Still others are quitting with no firm plans, confident they can get a better deal elsewhere as the economy rebounds from the pandemic recession.

Wife is doing this but we think we are at point one salary is enough. Work didn't treat her right. No reason to be miserable.

Also no kids what are we working so hard for? The way country is going saving and work hard is for dummies lol

A copy editor writes the headlines, so probably. They don't want to print anything that makes the administration look bad.

Photos are the other way (newspapers) used to editorialize. They'd use unflattering photos to undermine the people they hated.

we will undoubtedly get exactly what we deserve from all of this. We sowed it, and we shall also reap that which we sowed.

This is the stupidest, most uninformed and myopic view of what’s happened and it’s repeated ad nauseam. Many of us didn’t sow this. In fact we sowed the exact opposite. And yet here we are suffering the results of something we never asked for.

Then we get pseudo intellectuals belching out cliche platitudes that aren’t remotely accurate.

Are you people simpletons?

People quitting their jobs, means they will have more time in the day to spend their money on stuff. That will boost the economy as they spend all their money on stuff and things. When they run out of their money from not having a job, they will use more government funds. That will require the government to get more funds from the people who are working.

See. Duh. Helps the economy. Sorry you guys can’t follow basic accountingmagigs
