Dogs are the best. Mine just alerted me to a car driving up our driveway.

Let me preface this by saying I live on a lot of acreage. My driveway is extremely long. So long, UPS and USPS refuse to deliver packages to my doorstep. You don’t come here unless you’re invited.

My dogs started going crazy about twenty minutes ago and at first I didn’t know why. They heard the car before I saw headlights. Once I saw the headlights, I let them out and grabbed a firearm. I think this woman expected a vacant home, as a lot of homes in my area are second homes and remain unoccupied for most of the year.

I considered this, but she hauled arse out of here quickly for someone that was lost once she saw me. It wasn’t like I was standing on my porch with a shotgun

Their sense of smell and hearing are amazing. My dogs can sense another dog being walked in front of our house from the back yard without seeing them.

That is cool. A friend of mine has a place like that with a long driveway and no close neighbors. Some people tried to rob him once but they woke him up, and he was able to chase them away. His Ring notification is barking dogs - I told him he should just get a real dog instead.

One of my ridgebacks goes directly to the back door when there is a possum or racoon in the yard. He will do this from anywhere in the house.

I wanted her to leave. Not get her aroused seeing me there in my boxers holding a Benelli 828. I grabbed a Glock 19 instead.

My two dogs:

A 3/4 chocolate lab mixed with 1/4 pitbull that is an absolute muscle-bound 90lb monster that also happens to be the sweetest and most timid dog you'll ever meet. He has no clue of his intimidating appearance and thinks he's a lap dog

And a Schollie, which is a German shepherd and a border collie. He's only 6 months old at this point and only weighs 70 lbs, but he's by far the naturally smartest dog I've ever seen and has required almost zero training to pick up everything we need.

I haven't had a ton of dogs before them, but they amaze me every single day with how intuitive and human-like they are in their emotions, actions, and smarts

A baw has every right to protect his PRIVATE property from trespassers, and is under no obligation to offer milk and cookies.

She probably would have been a more capable thief if she spent time with you.

Had a family friend who raised 3 bobcats from birth and can say that you are absolutely correct. They can be vicious.
