Bored on a Saturday (baseball coaches)

Bored so looking at potential LSU coaches. Basing this on WS coaches because that seems to be the hold up and trends up/down.
Corbin…sure thing, Woodward type of hire, is 59 though and would easily cost the most
Vitello…the young up and comer, risky but could be a HR
O’Connor…has a Natty in 2015 but until this year only went to 2 regionals and couldn’t get out of either, missed tourney in 18 and 19
Johnson from Arizona…no chance, has not done much
Godwin…since 2015 has done the most other than Corbin, 3 Suoer Regionals in 6 years
Pearce at Texas…only been past a regional twice
So to me it should be Corbin then decide between Godwin (safer bet) or Vitello (jackpot or bust), then Bianco (safe bet but think Godwin has more potential)

Umm go back and look at Johnson’s resume. Not up to Corbin or O’Connor but better than the others.

Why did you not consider Dan McDonnell?

Huh?

Both times went to Omaha.

Give me Tony Vitello or Dan McDonnell and I’ll be ecstatic
I’d also be very happy with Corbin

Yeah not sure why Dan McDonanld is not mentioned here. To me, it should be a three man race between Vitello, McDonald, and Godwin. Obviously, if Corbin is available and wants to leave Vandy throw him in and make it a 4 man race.
No particular order here. Any of the 4 would make me happy.

I just can't see Corbin leaving Vandy, if I were him, I wouldn't leave. But if he somehow does, I would definitely take him. Vitello, McDonnell, and Godwin are all great options, I'd be happy with any of those.

I was basing this on the coaches in the WS because it appears that is the hold up. Also I was looking at trends going up or down. Johnson…in 8 years he has had 3 post seasons (Not a Woodward type hire)
Godwin…in 6 years has 3 Super Regionals, that is more than the others

I'd say anyone currently playing in the CWS has the qualifications to be the LSU coach.
Especially Johnson, Pierce, and Lemonis who have each been multiple times.
If you're in the CWS this year, to me, your arrow is pointing up.
I'd be happy as hell with Vitello, Johnson, Pierce, or Lemonis.

This Corbin stuff is pure nonsense. He's king of the mountain until when, or if, the NCAA ever gets around to changing baseball scholarship allotments. Corbin isn't going anywhere.

Ltown, I love your consistency, brother!

If only we had a baseball equivalent of Kramer's mom, that would make things easier. But we don't.

then why include Godwin?

I heard/read that McDonnells' wife loves Oxford and hates B.R. so if true don't expect Danny.

Why is no one mentioning David Pierce?
Posted on 6/19/21 at 12:43 pm to CheerWhine
We have Drew's dad, but we don't want Drew's dad.

How do you not include McDonnell?
