I'm going to include simply "very good" players in the star definition, so very broad.

To be honest I really can't think of any but its a long offseason.

Maybe Jaylen Brown or Ben Simmons?

It is just hard to identify actual sellers this offseason

Only if you consider Malcolm Brogdon a "star", but that's a good thought.

Zach Lavine. I've been getting mocked for wanting him for over 2 years now.

They have to make some team an offer they can't refuse.

The offer needs to be big enough that the guy doesn't even have to be "available."

All those picks and all those young players need to be on the table.

No sense in Griffin saving assets for a future he won't be apart of if Zion is gone.

The Bulls aren't going to make him available I wouldn't think.

If anything, they will be trying to trade more assets to get a complimentary player next to him, like Lonzo.

history tells us that assets are best used on perimeter players. So outside of KAT & Embiid, no bigs.

then we have to ID sellers which honestly, there aren't many. Brad Stevens isn't going to trade away Brown or Tatum in his first offseason in the front office. Washington, Portland, & Indiana likely won't trade their best players before seeing them with new coaches. Toronto could be a seller and Philly if they lose to ATL.

more than likely, this leaves us having to overpay.

I think this leaves us with a lot of names already talked about
-Buddy Hield
-Pascal Siakam
-Fred Van Vleet
-OG Anunoby
-Bradley Beal
-CJ McCollum
-Terry Rozier
-KAT

these are the biggest names that are probably the most available, even though that's not saying much.

Simmons intrigues me. We talk about spacing?!?! so much and he provides none of that but he also solves a plethora of issues that need to be addressed. Ball handling, facilitating, defense. Simmons could work but you have to, HAVE TO, involve Lonzo in some sign and trade deal to get a shooter back. And I mean a sniper. But...

Simmons
Sniper
BI
Zion
Jax

That feels like at worst play in/7-8 seed, Mavericks level frisky playoff threat. At best, 4/5 seed.

But, the whole Klutch, will he want to play ball in Louisiana sours the prospect.

You could push the entire warchest to Portland, try to keep Ingram and Hayes.

Lillard
?
Ingram
Zion
Hayes

That's a playoff team for sure.

Go all in for Beal. I really don't think that he's the right fit though.

Maybe Embid if the sixers give up on him always being hurt when it matters?

Mitchell seems like a longshot but maybe if he forces his way out of Utah if they lose to a Kawhi-less Clippers.

Simmons would be an awful fit with Zion. I honestly can't think of many worse.

He is a really good player with some huge weaknesses.

The most simplistic answer is fricking go all in on Chris Paul free agent. He wants to be paid. We need nba credibility. We need a leader. We need someone to help steer zion's career. We need someone who will pimp for the coach we hire and have everyone buy in.

Better questions are why would any star player want to play for the Pelicans, put their career in the hands of this franchise and live in New Orleans?

Paul ain’t coming back as much as I hate to say it. Also a huge risk giving him a long term contract at his age
