If you get a Bush Hog get a 215 for all around use or a 315 if you’re cleaning something up. A Rhino TW25 would be close to as good. Woods, LandPride and many others make fine implements as well.

Do NOT, NOT, NOT buy one from Tractor Supply. You NEVER buy something from a place that doesn’t assemble it or service it (and damn sure won’t know anything about it).

Avoid the bottom models of any brand (ie the 1 series in a Bush Hog or Rhino, but it goes with most any brand). The exception to this rule is Brown Manufacturing out of Ozark AL. They make the famous Tree Cutter that most use for power line right of ways. They have very strong gear boxes but what makes them is the pan that holds the blades. It’s an inch thick and weighs like 700 lbs by itself.

Seen YouTube videos of a TS flail brush cutter, brand new pulls off a gear cover and nothing but rust. Opens gear box oil plug, almost no oil and full of moisture and more rust.
