I have never done concrete work and I am 100000% certain that I could watch a few YouTube videos then go out and do a better job.

I would like to know of the same crew also laid out the other form directly behind the poured area that was still bare. The videos are going to be outstanding.

It’s like someone shot the bat signal against the clouds and everyone is assembling. It’s good to be a spectator.

BTW, Cpt Caveman, did you know recording phone calls in Louisiana is legal as long as one part is aware?

Got a pack of them outside tiling my pool right now. Quality work is being done, and cigs are being smoked.

For sure, I did grade and estimation for my uncle on road resurfacing/ditch to road drain retros. I would always jump in and learn what I could, helping form and floating. It's a definite art form but it isn't rocket science. Hands down the worst job I've seen by a "contractor".

ETA: Black dudes are the best concrete guys by far. Whatever is in their DNA, they excel at it.

Make 2 posts

Edit:

Someone with Facebook and OT experience needs to do everyone here a favor and migrate it over.

Break it up into multiple posts. If you want them to be together make 3-4 quick posts and then edit them with the post.

quote:

This is quite lengthy but there is a lesson learned here.

Our house has become almost as famous as the Winchester house thanks to Trevor Walker with Kin’s Construction LLC for giving our patio this Rocky Mountain look.
So we wanted to level off our existing patio, extend the slab an extra 12’x27’, and possibly turn our patio into a trophy room.

With that being said we learned a very valuable lesson here. DO NOT EVER hire someone to do work at your house because you’ve seen several posts on Facebook on how good their work is. We believe that we are good people and at times overly trusting, so I admit that hiring this clown is on us, but those days of us trusting anyone to do any job is over.

Here’s a brief overview of what led up to this disaster.
1. Trevor showed up and dropped off a few materials 2 weeks before he was supposed to start the job, but there was not enough expanded metal to do the job.
2. The truck was ordered before the area was formed up. (The rest took place while the concrete sat in the truck for 4 hours in the hot Louisiana sun.)
3. As they were forming up the area Trevor was advised to get more expanded metal because there was not enough to cover the area.
4. He returned with only a couple of pieces but still short a piece to cover the new area and he was going to pour concrete on the dirt with no expanded metal or rebar to support it.
5. They had no way to bring the concrete to the back so he had to leave the job site again to rent a buggy, because he ordered a 12 yd truck not a 6 yd truck. That 12 yd truck would have destroyed our driveway if he attempted to drive it onto the driveway.
6. The driver of the concrete truck and guy Trevor hired to finish the concrete both told him that he should not pour it because it sat in the truck too long and it was starting to harden. I spoke with both men the following day and both gave me the exact same story how Trevor wanted to make it work because he didn’t want to pay for another truck.
7. After pouring out all of the concrete Trevor had to once again leave the job site to rent a power trowel. It didn’t matter at that point because the concrete had set before they could even work it and they couldn’t even move it by hand.

A few takeaway points you want to be on the lookout for is:

1. In one message Trevor said “I never touched yall house,” and in another message he states he “wasn’t at the job at all but a couple of times.” When clearly the videos show Trevor operating the buggy at all times and dumping every load of concrete that he was told he should not pour.
2. He claims that he only provided the materials when his invoice clearly details labor & materials.
3. The contract he had with MH Paving for labor details that it was contracted out on 5/25/21 at the top but the actual date on the invoice was left out of the picture. I speculate that he left that date off intentionally, and put the contracted out date after he was confronted. Coincidence?
4. He blames everyone else for his mistakes when he really is incompetent in construction.
On another FB board Trevor’s friends have joined his cause without hearing both sides of the story, so one must question their integrity. If they did know both sides of the story and still sided with Trevor then you must still question their integrity.

The term Karen is associated with a demanding, privileged woman with a sense of entitlement. I am associating the term Trevor with anyone that is incompetent in whatever they are doing. So don’t be a Trevor.

Warning! Viewer Discretion Is Advised that Trevor’s texts are pretty brutal on the eyes. So without further ado I am posting all texts on 2 separate dates between Trevor and myself, along with the videos of Trevor pouring all of the concrete.

I’m making this public so feel free to share with the world.

Hey Trevor, have a nice day!

tl;dr

Also, not posting this directly to the OT is a major party foul by the homeowner.

I posted it for you. Hopefully, you guys have hired an attorney to recoup the money you paid as well as the cost to have it corrected. Also, file a complaint with the state contractors board. Don't waste time with entities like the BBB as they are a private organization and can't do anything. Instead, you can call the State AG office and report him for unfair business practices.

Good luck, Neal
